• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: Windshield center arm replacement

I replace the windshield center arm on my wife's 2010 RT, and now the windshield wil not go up or down.

There is a magnet on the opposite side of the shaft from the gear. It's used to sense the position of the arm.
Did you re-assemble the unit and change the position of the magnet relative to the arm ?
I hope you bought a billet arm from noboot, instead of the same crappy arm from BRP.

As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.

:agree: …. and to further complicate matters …. that magnet acts the same way that elevator - start / stop devices do …. they must be positioned correctly for the READER to sense where to position your windshield …………. 5 years ago when I built my own " windshield arm " I discovered this …. luckily I marked where the Magnet shaft arm was before I removed it ……...good luck ….. Mike :ohyea:

:agree: Marking the magnet placement before removing is the key!

Thank you for the info, I read the maintenance Manuel and watched the YOUTUBE video and nowhere did it say to make sure the RT was running. Thanks again.

Sorry about that, I guess we assumed you already know that your RT windscreen arm wont function without the bike running.

The simplest of things quite often catch us out.

Cheers, nobot
