• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Full Moon Silver RT SE5 -- purchased May 15. Towed back to dealer on May 19 with 35 miles on odometer and an oil leak. Haven't seen it since. That's 3 days of ownership, 42 days held hostage! And more days/weeks coming due to clutch recall. I think I win....

Things I've learned about BRP since purchase: (1) the customer service line at Area Code 715 is useless; the reps are trained to listen but not authorized to take any positive action; (2) BRP is unwilling to admit responsibility for lemon, claiming that the bike was sold to the dealer and any problems are the dealer's; (3) My matching $4,000 trailer went missing from the factory for more than 30 days because BRP does not have a tracking system in place to know where shipped products are; (4) the BRP system for selecting dealer franchises is highly suspect; my dealer became absolutely worthless once the check was deposited; (5)
BRP customer service has very, very liberal leave/vacation/closed-to-customers policy; (6) considerably more...

LAUGH OF THE MONTH: Today I got a small box from the marketing department in Quebec. It contained information about the silly pin program and 40 business-card sized brochures that I'm supposed to hand out for BRP. The useless little box had a UPS tracking number while my trailer didn't! As coinicidence would have it, the box arrived shortly after I returned home from the post office -- mailed a serious nastygram to Jose Boisjoli, BRP president/CEO. Told him his product was junk, his customer service sucked like a Hoover and I would spend my remaining years running down BRP every chance I get. Not likely that I'll be a free salesman passing out their brochures! Copy of the letter now gets mailed to Louis Levesque, Can-Am marketing director who send me the goody box. Think I'll enclose the brochures....

It is the same dealer that export to Ireland (biker1) the RS with a bad DPS! BRP should investigate! :lecturef_smilie:

Ouch! You are one ticked off customer. Dealer sounds like a real winner. Check out some other threads about customer complaints--you might find them helpful in dealing with the situation. Hope they get it solved soon for you.

Wow, too long for an oil leak. Mine developed one after the 6k service, but it was due to gaskets. Repaired right away at another dealer. You all have way more patience than I have ever had. I keep our lawyer's number in my phone in case his assistance is needed. Letters from legal departments can get a fire lit under worthless dealers too.

I lemon-lawed a truck in Florida several years ago, can you not go that route? It was a fairly simple process.

I can so easily beat that. One of mine was in for well over 60 days (only interrupted by a few hours in my hands before it went back in).

After reading these posts I am happy I bailed on both of my Spyders when I did. Got out of both of them very gracefully money wise. Will continue to watch and see if BRP can make them more reliable in the future! Also very sorry to hear of all these other problems all of you are having.

I have great sympathy for you. My RTS was in the shop three times, for a total of nearly twelve weeks. Nancy's RS saw one seven week stretch in the shop. It is never fun, but all the cussing, nail-biting, and worrying in the world won't make it different. All we can do, just to keep from going bonkers, is to be patient. I hope things are resolved for you soon.

As far as the oil leak goes, I talked to Kurt in Chicago and he said the first fix they had for it was incorrect...that they have found a different cause. Be sure your tech checks with BRP tech for the latest fix. Mine is still leaking. No big deal...better than my British bikes. I'll take it back in after it snows.
