• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the 2008 SM5 and this same thing has happened to me a couple of times now. when I stop hard in 1st gear with the wheel straight it lights up like a christmas tree. VSS, DPS, ABS and limp home mode comes on. when I pull over and let it sit a minute and restart everything is fine. I still need to do the first update(in know just havent had time to get the bike in). do you think this is the problem or do you think something eles is going on?

Check all your battery connections make sure there tight and not corroded. Also check your relays make sure they are not loose, also you may want to swap them around and go for a ride and see if it happends. Sounds like somethings loose and shifting when your stoping which would usually be a loose connection or bad relay.

so how do I fix this. do I open the trunk and remove the panel and wiggle the relays and try to push them in or is there something more to it? thanks guys

First thing to make sure of is that your brake lights are working. There is a good chance that you have blown that 5 amp fuse for the circuit, and that will cause this type of behavior. This same thing happened to me when my new license plate light was shorting out and blowing that fuse. If the brake lights are working, and the fuse is good to go, you may want to check the level of the brake fluid next as the Spyder is very sensitive to low fluid levels as well.

Best of luck getting it sorted out.

Thats about it. Also, I placed a thin strip of weather-stripping to the inside of the cover above my relays so they wouldnt work themselves loose again. I had it happen when I hit a large pothole.

I checked all the relays and fuses and found one or two lose. I pushed them back in. I will also check the break fluids tomorrow. I adjusted the shocks up a little and checked the belt and didnt notice anything out of the norm. I changed the oil two weeks ago. top off antifreeze tonight so with any luck and a test ride everything will be ok. Thanks for the help everyone.

Could it be all the sensors are doing exactly as designed? If I read it correctly it only does this when you are doing a really hard stop... I take that as meaning nose dive and rear lift. Your system may be sensing a danger point or as the other post have stated loose or failing relay and / or a loose battery connection.

I suspect you may have the suspension set soft and may have low tire pressure and the sensors are seeing excessive dive and sending signals to the nanny... saying danger, danger.. slow it down.

And the updates may help resolve some of this.

Without actually seeing it... my reply is only a guess. Ken krb1945

:dontknow:
Are you clutching soon enough? In other words are you almost stalling by leaving it in 1 st gear at too low an RPM?
