• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

93 OCTANE

I know full well that I'm going to get FLAMED for this statement but here goes .........If you are using 93 Octane in your Spyder you should Google "Octane" and find out what it is and what it does....... After you have gained this knowledge and still want to spend .30 + extra per gallon of gas , at least you will be an informed ????? ( fill in the blank )....................Your all very welcome, Mike

The last two sentences of the article pretty much says it all. Other than where it mentioned pre ignition due to carbonation.

Keeping things as carbon free as possible is key. How each Indavidual decides to do that has been debated here on many occasions(as you well know). I use chevron high test, and when it is not available, I substitute 2oz of MMO per fill up.

This works for me. Others will have their way of doing things. As always.....it's a personal choice/belief thing.

Thanks!

Based upon their explanation; is that why they suggest lower octane fuel at elevation, or at lower ambient temperatures? ;)

:agree: Particularly in an air-cooled engine... The extra "stability" of the higher octane, can mae a difference as things heat up...
Save money by buying cheaper toilet paper, and stale bread! :D

Well you are correct

I use use premium gas in everything, even our lawn mowers.

If you're worried about an extra $50 in gas a year from using premium in all your vehicles, you should get rid of some and buy a Honduh....like a Civic, not a bike. Lol

Almost every Honduh, no matter how many wheels, is engineered to run on 87 octane.

WELL THAT IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

 Face it, Mike; You're tighter, than bark to a tree! :D :roflblack: :2thumbs:......
and it works for you!
