There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What did you do to your Spyder today?

How'd they look? Did they need replacing?
Here's what the plugs looked like at 57,000 miles. The central electrodes look great, there is some wear of the ground side electrodes. I wasn't having any issues but they were long past the recommended change interval. Based on previous spark plug discussions here, I think I made the right decision to wait until about 50,000 miles and then do them at my convenience.

Excellent, thanks for the report. I think you made the right decision.
Lots of work just to get to them.
I just replaced my air filter at 15k. It could have gone another 15k easily.

I swear, the first time I have to remove all that bodywork, I'm going to get rid of the stock airbox, and build a simpler cold air intake and filter system. I'd like to route it to place a cone filter in the area behind the grille.
I see quite a bit of intake air temperature rise in hot weather with the stock system.

Yesterday I installed my RDL seat. All was going well until I decided to do a 1-more for good measure on tightening the screw that holds the piston on. Well, the freaking screw snapped off at the head. So now what was I going to do? I had to get the screw out, so I cut the plastic part that slips inside the piston. Then I drilled a hole all the way through the seat, found a 3/4 threaded bolt and used that instead. I could have ditched the piston and bought the part that Slingmods sells which holds the seat up, but why spend the money if I don't have to? I'm really not sure why Can-Am decided a metal screw in plastic to hold on a piston was a good idea?! It should have been like the hinge part on the seat where it uses a sleeve. In any case, the seat is on and I can't wait to start breaking it in.

For the record, I thought the RDL seat would raise the seat height, but it really didn't raise it much at all, if any. It feels the same as when I had the stock seat on, but more comfortable. That was one of my concerns - I like sitting "in" the bike as opposed to sitting "on" it.
I just got a RDL seat and it is definitely higher for me. I am 5' 10". I am going to get the floorboard risers as the seat puts pressure on the back of my upper hamstrings.

Used it to collect around 100 grass hoppers on a 150 mile ride. Gold Canyon to Globe to Winkelman to Superior and back to Gold Canyon AZ. Radiator screens where both almost blocked with suicidal grass hoppers.
I read that an estimated 10 trillion insects are killed on vehicle windshields every year. Has anyone noticed a lack of insects? That makes you think about how many insects live on this earth. It is mind boggling.

I've read where the Earth's total weight of insects is higher than the whole human populations weight.
That's a lot of bugs. I do my best to eradicate them on every Spyder adventure. Don't Spyders eat bugs? Lol

Let me know if you can't get comfortable on it, I would be happy to take it off your hands. I would even come pick it up to save shipping hassles.

I can tell you emphatically that it's not for me. But hey, I don't know your setup. If there is a difference, it's so slight that I cannot notice one. I'm the same height as you. I already had floorboard risers even with my stock seat because I like sitting in the bike like my old cruiser I had years ago.

It was sunny and 48 degrees here this afternoon, so we took a ride to try the warming gear for the first time. I'm happy to report that everything worked as it should have, and we're very pleased with the results. It's nice to know that the riding season can now be extended into mid to late fall here in SW Ohio.

Some years ago they desided to terminate the national FM radio broadcasting here in Norway and go for DAB instead.
Many cars and home radios went quiet, but some local amateur driven stations still kept going.
So today I finaly installed a DAB+ adapter on my RT. I waited to get one until I found one with a wireless remote that I could use up front.

Pure Dab+ adapter and antenna.jpg

Here is the DAB+ receiver with antenna. It can send to the onboard radio via FM or as I chose to, via AUX for better quality.

Pure Highway 400 wireless remote.jpg

Here is the wireless remote with display mounted where my analog gauge used to be. It is not waterproof, but away from the worst weather.
Now I am looking forward to listen to the radio instead of just the iPod. (y) :)

All I did was ride! A little cooler here in NC than I like on Saturday, so I waited until Sunday and got out for a little 45 mile ride on the wife's bike. Gave the Airhawk seat cushion a try since this is the bike that I plan to use next weekend for the 500 mile day trip to the Back of the Dragon. It was a little big (I bought it for my M109), but it did the job. Next weekend will also be a test to see how it will do for the NorthEast trip that I will be doing June 1st in order to finish up the 48 State tour. I will definitely be putting the longer brake rod on so that I can stretch out a little more. I have number 3 on right now so that the wife can ride if she desires to. After doing the 45 miles on the Spyder and returning home for dinner and watching a little TV, I had some light left so I took the K1600 out for another little 40 mile ride. Since I like murals, I found one in downtown Cary that I just had to snap a picture of.

Went out for my first 2026 ride of the year with my fresh oil change!!! It got 70° plus today and the bride and I got out to enjoy it. Had to work around the many potholes, but it was worth it!

I went for a ride yesterday, it was so awesome,my spyder said it was 81° I seen another rider,he was on a green and orange Harley-Davidson and he had a mohawk to match,he gave me a thumbs up and said nice ride, l thanked him and said yours is cool too, I told him I also liked his matching hair to his Harley, we talked for a while and he asked lots of questions about my spyder, l told him I used to ride a 2011 Harley fatboy lo, he asked why I quit riding it, I told him l had to because I lost the sight in my left eye and my spyder lets me continue to ride, I dont have to lean like on a harley, plus there's no clutch, shifts down by itself, it was awesome talking to another rider, made my day when he was impressed with my spyder...

Yep, when you ride a Spyder you also become a Spyder ambassador.
I have experienced this soooo many times, and I dont mind educating people who have questions about my F3S.
After talking with them, they all have a better understanding of the trike, and become more interested in the concept of it, and why we have chosen to be on this awesome piece of engineering.
Bottom line, when you pull in for gas, a rest, or lunch , allow a little extra time to answer questions from interested people.

when l rode a Harley, the one rule was you never ask to sit on another person's ride, I could tell by the way he was walking around her that he wanted to sit on it, l said go ahead, the look on his face was priceless, l don't think he expected it to feel so comfortable, I wish I would have taken a picture with him on my spyder, but I didn't think about it until after we had both left...

When I pull in for gas, or a rest top, or a parking lot on my Spyder, if people ask me about my Spyder, I usually tell them it has the same "Y" frame as a snowmobile, but it is on wheels. The info. that I give them about the Spyder, I could be a salesperson.

I get the following questions: Can you ride the spyder on the interstate, how fast can it go, do you need a motorcycle license to ride it, Why did you get a Spyder, & Etc.
