What did you do to your Spyder today?

Spent part of the afternoon in the garage cleaning and inspecting. If you have Shad Bags installed you might want to check "ALL" of the Phillips & T20 screws that hold them together. This is the 2nd time I've re-torqued all of them and they've needed it! Twice in almost 15k miles. They all needed 1/8th of a turn or more. Just a thought. Everything else on the machine was still tight, with the exception of the bolts on the Route 129 (windshield) that attach to the instrument cluster. They were a little loose.

Dasmoetorhead's post about checking the tightness of bolts and screws on the Spyder brought back a memory from a trip to Colorado/New Mexico last year. Both of us wear Shark helmets, which are modular, allowing the chin guard to be rotated clear to the back of the helmet making it essentially a 3/4 helmet. Mine started acting up and not wanting to rotate smoothly. Upon checking, I found 3 screws lose, and 2 more were missing. We stopped at a Napa store in Monte Vista, CO and I picked up a set of Torx head screw drivers and got the remaining screws tightened up. Upon arriving home, I hit my local Ace Hardware, where I found they had the right size screws, so got it all permanently fixed with the aid of a little locktite on each screw. The new screws were silver and those on the helmet were black, so a little aluminum oxide gun blue fixed them right up. Good as new, now.
