• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I reinstalled the custom seat so I could take some pictures for my RDL order. I'll leave that seat on until my new RDL arrives. Most likely won't be able to ride at that point but I'll at least have the seat. Plus, if it's as good as I'm hearing, I may have to also order the wife one.

Removed my luggage rack from the rear hitch after the trip back from the NC mountains. While umpacking things, I broke the latch on the right saddle bag! That is always fun.

Now I'm going to give the dealership a call tomorrow and see if this item will be covered on my extended BRP warranty. I have a bad feeling that it won't.

THANKS FOR THE SORRY WORKMANSHIP BRP!

I work from home, but my client wanted me to come work on-site for two weeks. It's supposed to be dry all week, so I decided to ride my Spyder to the job, 223 miles one way! I'll ride home Friday evening, then ride back next Monday morning. Riding my Spyder just about every day for two weeks... Oh yeah!

And I hate road construction. But I do like the end result.

Uhhh! But at least you have the snowmobile season to look forward to.
I've got rain and mist to look forward to all Winter :-(>. But while the wx is good I'll be on the F3S. 👍🏻
HI Dasmoetorhead,

Yea!!!! Yes, I do, I hope we have a great snowmobile season (not like the one we had last season, where we probably had only about a month's worth of snowmobile riding).

It is currently raining here in Vermont, rain we need real bad, as we are still in drought!

OK. Enjoy riding your F3S while the weather is still good.

Deanna

Rode down to Fortuna, Ca to visit my Brother. We just hung out in the garage and talked motorcycles & guns.
On the way home on the highway, I was doing 70mph in traffic and I noticed something in the middle of my lane, which looked like a stick. As I got closer with no way to a avoid it, I noticed it was a claw hammer, and I hit it with my left front tire. It spit the hammer to my right and didn't hit or damage the F3S luckily.
On a side note the Akrapovic Sinister Exhaust Silencer is one of the best things I've added. I love the sound and looks. At 70 mph my rpms are 3900. With the stock secondary silencer it would run at 4,000 rpms. Might even save some gas. I still have the primary silencer (cat) Installed with zero plans to change this configuration. It's exactly the sound I was looking for. The 1330 really sounds good. Should have come from the factory like this.

If there's any chance that you hit anything but the hammer handle, you really might want to get that tire checked out properly fairly urgently - a 'strip & refit with an external and internal inspection with balancing afterwards' type check out!!

Hitting the handle alone might possibly/maybe cause enough of a hit to damage the construction of the tire; but hitting the hammer head at speed, with its sharp edges and potential impact points that could impose lotsa tearing/puncturing tread ply &/or steel belt damage, especially if you hit it at speeds anything much over 30 mph or so, really warrants a close & proper inspection, or you seriously risk a catastrophic failure at speed!!

It shouldn't be too hard for an experienced tire tech to do this for you - a visual inspection of the outside while it's still on the rim; followed by feeling carefully for any bumps or irregularities in the outside of the tread & casing and checking for abnormal run-out et al; then stripping the tire & repeating the visual and tactile inspection on the inside should reveal any torn/separated tread plies &/or steel belts pdq!! But if you DON'T get that done, the risk of failure after hitting something/anything with sharp edges &/or corners is pretty high, and the damage won't necessarily be obvious to the average driver/rider, which is why you really should get it checked out, even if just to protect yourself from the potential of a rejected insurance claim some time down track! 😖

Just Sayin' 🤨

Thanks Peter, I've got it on the lift as we speak. I'm an ASE Master Tech in automotive, heavy equipment, Marine, bla bla bla, amongst many other certs, so I'm well qualified for the inspection.
I seriously thank you though for your concern and a good reminder not to just blow this off.
Cheers! Brother

Excuse me, but I'm failing to understand how a silencer can affect engine RPM at a given speed.:ROFLMAO:
