• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I did not do anything to my :spyder2: it is in hibernation, but I did change the oil/and oil filter in my sled.

Gave her a good washing!

Pulled the F3 behind the motorhome in an enclosed trailer on our trip to New Mexico.

Holy cow is New Mexico a dusty state!!!!!

Lots of fun though and lots to see. We missed the flooding, lucky for us.

Saw the bats, swallows, and Carlsbad Caverns. Just seeing Carlsbad Caverns was worth the trip! If you've never seen the Caverns, you REALLY need to.

The petroglyphs were also VERY cool to see.

EDIT

How could I forget the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque? Yep, we saw it. I've never seen so many hot air balloons in my life! Even if you added ALL of the balloons up that I have ever seen in my entire life together, it wouldn't have equaled the number that we saw that day.

There must have been at least 300 to 400 in the air at once. It was an amazing sight!

I pulled the cover off of it after 6 weeks. Just got home after 6 weeks, 6,000 miles, and 15 campgrounds and RV Parks.
I've got lots of work to do, but hopefully I'll get a ride in soon.

I did a little more tweaking on the toe.
My handlebar was a little off-center, and it took a couple tries to get it right. I made a few toe adjustments and test rides.
Zero toe and 1/16" toe out both resulted in a bit of instability at speed, as well as a bit of understeer.
I ended up with 1/16" toe-in, and it feels pretty good now, and the bar is straight.

A little testing in a parking lot and I found out that the nanny will let me lift a front tire in a turn.
I've done that in a car before, but it's a little more exciting on only three wheels. :yikes:

Just got my spyder repaired, the ACS would go in to manual mode only. Turned out to be the compressor which had died. They fixed that and did the front sprocket recall at the same time. I pick it up Monday, so I'll know how it rides then.

Went for a 90 miler today. The route was selected to check out the new power steering unit. Lots of twisties, off camber turns, tight turns, and uneven surfaces. So far so good! No warnings, no fault codes.

Tomorrow will be a longer ride on different roads.

I went for a 140 miler over several different road types to exercise the replacement power steering unit. The unit works like a champ. No warnings and no fault codes. Cautiously optimistic the problem is fixed.

Changed the stock handlebar for the "Long Reach" handlebar for tall riders. Raises your hands and moves the grips forward slightly. Elbows have been moved forward away from the body and the hands are a bit more above the elbows. Too soon to tell if its an improvement but it is noticeably a different position.

Went on a short 70 mile ride up in the mountains. My main goal was to test out my new Fox Creek Leather Co. Leather over pants. These will be worn 3 seasons. There lined, have full length leg zippers and snaps on the bottom like chaps. They look and fit like relaxed 501's. I absolutely love em. I think I'll probably wear my track suit pants under them next time, but they fit perfect as worn today.

Rode to the retiree’s breakfast, then went grocery shopping. Still had one side case empty, should have bought some chips for Saturday’s football games on TV.

Did you sit in the big yellow chair? We were there in July. Sounds like a great day! Happy Veterans Day and thank you for your service!
