Celebrated putting 8 000 miles on the Spyder since new June 21 2023.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Prepping my ride for a possible road trip to Green Country Jamboree. Put the IPS rack w/ top case back on, and today I fashioned a smaller rack in front of the IPS to carry my duffel bag. Made from aluminum angle and a $16 porcelain enamel grill topper. Once at my destination, I can pull four bolts and have both racks off in about 2 minutes.

I rode up to Roan Mountain TN to deliver my youngest Boy a late Birthday present . He wasn't home and I kinda figured he wouldn't be. It ended up a beautiful ride anyway. Seen a few bikes out, and a spyder rider who didn't wave back. His buddy on the HD did though.
I'm trying to ride as much as possible, because in a little over a week I'll be in this thing
For at least 7-8 weeks. Heading out to Nor-Cal to be with my Daughter and her family while she has our Grandson. Couldn't miss that. We're going to watch our Granddaughter who is 2 during the delivery. It's been long time since we've watched a 2 yo for a few days. Lol
I'm trying to ride as much as possible, because in a little over a week I'll be in this thing

You guys are gonna crush the grandparent gig with your 2yo granddaughter.
When our grandson spent the night for the first time he wore us out with his energy. The 2nd time he came over we split the watch duties! Lol

Took a short ride this morning, sunny, upper 70's to lower 80's. I had moved my GPS from the right side of the handlebars to the center, and wanted to see how I liked it. Didn't like it at all. Harder for me to see, had to look down rather than a bit to the right. Anyway, moved it back to the right side. Still enjoyed the ride.

110 mile ride in East TN and VA, then a grilled cheeseburger at the Shady Valley country store. They had a small band playing outside next to the grill area. After lunch I just hung out and watched and listened to all the bikes and cars. Got home and cleaned up the Spyder.

Cleaned up the wiring for the twin Sena Freewires I installed in my F3T and installed my remote volume/intercom control on the RAM mount that holds the GPS.

Be sure to fuel up before you cross into California. Gas/diesel prices are atrocious there. If you are taking I10 there is a nice big truckstop/restaurant just before you cross the river.

Picked up my brand new 2024 F3-S from the dealership and drove it home.
It's the first time I have ridden any non-car on actual streets, so I was a bit wary of it all. I definitely still need some getting used to it - Just riding in general but also things like where the blinkers are and such - but the hour+ ride from dealership to home garage went smoothly. There was one hugely steep downhill I was not expecting that freaked me out for half a moment but that was mostly because I was on an unfamiliar road and had no idea it was there... and it was surprisingly steep. Probably would have had almost the same reaction in my jeep...
But it got home safe and sound, and I added the frunk organizer, a garage door opener, and a cup holder. Not sure the cup holder will stay or not? Not sure how much use it will get... then again it should be out of the way and forgotten about if it gets no usage so *shrug*
So anyway... first ride done!

9/07/24 I gave my Spyder it's first ever official wash, wax & detailing. It's a bit harder than the Motorcycle, but still much easier than the car. the hardest part? - The rear wheel! :sour:
Wait, you are supposed to clean the rear wheel?
We made a picnic lunch and rode down to visit Longwood Gardens. The gardens are part of the old DuPont estate that is now a very nice and very large arboretum. It was a beautiful day to walk the gardens. We made a big loop going down and returning home. All on back roads. 102 miles for the day.
