• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Nothing.

Maybe this week I'll take a ride. I need Spyder time!

Deanna

Now Come On Deanna!! :spyder: You've just gotta be strict with yourself; get out there; and DO THIS THING!! :lecturef_smilie:

We've been seeing Far Too Many of those posts from you lately, it's weakening MY resolve to ride every day!!

I even avoided a morning ride the other day just cos it was too cold - only 10° C, and it wasn't even raining!! :gaah:

 :coffee:

Installed a new Kenda Kanine rear tire on Pearl... New shoes all around, we'll see how these Kanines work out.

Looks Nice, I used a remote I got off of amazon.
Clips right on to the extended bolt for my tackform phone holder on the center mount.

installed BajaRons Front shock adjuster kit, 2 new Vredestein, and a oil change, man the tires make a big difference in the ride

Nooo!! You don't need to cut back on your posts like that, Deanna! :lecturef_smilie:

I was just having a bit of fun by implying that you telling the rest of us that you didn't ride on any particular day was giving me an excuse not to ride too! ;) Really, you have nothing to do with me making that choice - it's just my lack of intestinal fortitude and motivation... both things that I've noticed are becoming more pronounced of late!

Another example of that - I spent a weekend out on a friend's 'bush block' not too long ago, helping keep 'the ferals' under control. There's no mains power or water out there, so you hafta cut & collect an armful of wood and then light the 'donkey' water heater if you want a hot shower; only that was juuust too hard for me to contemplate on a cold & wet morning, so instead of having a cold shower like I always would've done in the past, I just didn't bother!! Instead, I stayed grotty and waited until I got home that evening, where I had the luxury of just turning on the hot tap!! :yikes: I guess I'm just not as tough as I used ta be - maybe I'm getting lazier and turning into a wimp in my old age!?! :gaah:

So you can tell us you didn't ride any day you like  and I'll try not to use that as an excuse for me not to go riding too!! :opps:

Did you go through Colorado Rocky National Park? That is on my list.

That brings back memories of our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. I have memories of the very thin air at that altitude. I did not spend long as I was breathing very heavy to keep up.

Just yesterday someone on the site was asking for a report on Kanine tires. Keep track of the miles and let us know what the final outcome is.

I was doing a test on mine, but ended up selling the bike before the test was over. They were still like new at about 5000 miles.

HI Pete,

I won't cut back on my posts.

I ride when I can, I am still dealing with the life curve, (I am not going into any details) and when I have the time. Matter of fact, I took a ride today, going on another ride tonight.

I don't ride on any particular day.

Deanna

Bought new push pins for the 2 very expensive panels on the 2014 (next to the front wheels). I recall reading on the forum about one of these falling off.

Great Ride today - Since good weather finally came back to central NC. I rode from Greensboro to Dobson to pay some Surry County taxes. Then on the way home, I stopped at a great restaurant in Winston Salem for supper. After eating, I went by a CVS in Greensboro to get some medicine and then home. I stayed on back roads the whole trip for some great riding (low traffic and no idiots).

Picnic ride with my wife. We left from home and rode to Samael S Lewis State Park then onto the Pinnacle Overlook in Holtwood PA. The morning ride was very pleasant. After lunch it was a hot ride home on backroads between corn and tobacco fields. 206 miles.

Hmmm. Thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it. Anyway, left at 0510 for home from Panacea, Florida after a 3 day trip. First 1.5 hours in the dark, not fun but the lights on the Spyder are pretty impressive. Stopped for breakfast in Bainbridge, Ga and continued on home. Put around 750 miles on the bike those 3 days and averaged 39 mpg. Cruise control and driver back rest were great.

Here is a shot taken in St. Marks NWR.

39 mpg, that's good, maybe the 2024 RTL is a bit more conservative on fuel consumption, I cannot seem to get better than 36. Of course most all of my riding is two up, but still at a conservative speed.

I'm a pretty conservative rider, and most of this trip was on non-Interstate roads. Lots of 55 mph. I did notice that there is quite a difference between running 55 and running 60 or more. Even on 65 mph speed limit I usually kept it at 55. But overall I have been pleased with the MPG - just hope it stays that way.
