• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

(Yesterday) Finally got a chance to put in about an hour on the ride. Just a big loop on some county roads, about 52 miles. Today hope to install the Fobo 2 TPMS sensors I got a few days ago.

I bet those are loud, but I want something compact if possible.

I have the motohorn on mine also, saved my *** on I-95 in Savannah, Ga.

Had a cage with someone not paying attention that started to drift into my lane, when I hit my Motohorn I could see them jump about 6 inches off of their seat and corrected back into their lane.

No need to worry about power to the compressor. You take the power directly off the battery and use the horn leads to activate the relay that is fused with a 30-amp fuse. If you want, you can leave your original horn hooked up for a dual tone effect.

If you do get the Motohorn or dual track, make sure to buy the lifetime warranty. I didn't get it on mine and had the diaphragm on the trumpet that went bad. I then found out that you cannot order replacement parts from Motohorn.

They will only send you a brand-new horn and since I was out of warranty, they only offered me a discount on a new horn.

I ended up making my own diaphragm to fix the bad one.

Got her all cleaned and shined up for the big parade on Wed. My wife was named Grand Marshal so the Spyder will be her ride. July 24th is the day Utah celebrates the coming of the Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake valley in 1847

Changed out the Kenda for the Quatrac that I ordered on Monday.

Glad to have the Quatrac back on again. No weights for balancing this time.

The shop that mounts my tire used Magnum balancing beads. I do wonder about the weight that they used.

Diamond Motor Sports that mounted the kenda during my rear end repair used 3 oz of balancing beads as where my local shop used 6.75 oz for the Quatrac.

There is enough in there you can hear them sloshing around as I push the spyder in and out of the garage.

Nothing - life got in the way!

Hopefully, this weekend I'll take a ride.

Picked up a collapsable soft cooler for the trunk. When we moved to Arizona one thing we learned from the locals is to get an ice chest for the car, and keep a couple water filled milk containers in the house's freezer. When you go grocery shopping, you toss the frozen jugs in the ice chest to help your cold and frozen items survive the drive home in the heat. This is especially important for us since we live about 10 miles from the grocery stroe. Wanted something for the Spyder that I could use if I wanted to ride to the grocery store rather than taking the car.

Do you have dry ice available?

I use it in my cooler that I strap on to my rear shelf to take lunch and drinks with me on long trips. It lasts for a long time and no soggy sandwiches.

And if you are going to a grocery store that is usually the most common place to buy it.

I just use a dish towel to create a layer between the dry ice and contents so as not to freeze my food and drinks.

.....

Yes, both local grocery stores have dry ice. We use the frozen milk jugs because they're always ready and essentially free. The dry ice idea might be perfect when my wife requests that I make an "emergency" ice cream run. You know, when it's time to have pie and ice cream, and she discovers there's not enough ice cream for the proper ice cream-to-pie ratio. Arriving home with mushy ice cream lowers the hero score, so dry ice might be a save.

We occasionally head out and forget our ice, so I'll buy a bag at the store. We use a lot of ice here in the summertime for drinks, so what's left of the bag gets put in the freezer. I like the dry ice idea though, especially for something like ice cream. I usually have a towel in the car and a smaller one in the bike.

Gave it a good shine up and checked the tire pressure.
Got bags packed and ready for another trip, we leave tomorrow morning.:ohyea:

I have an Igloo soft sided cooler that has two sections, the bottom is about big enough for a 6 pack of drinks, and top will hold a few sandwiches or other types of food.

In my freezer are a couple of "blue ice" packs that are plastic containers with some sort of refreezable liquid in them.
One of them is shaped to fit between the cans of a 6-pack of drinks.
Putting the shaped one in the bottom section with the drinks will still keep the top section cold enough for the rest of the food.

I checked mine, and on one the label is missing but LIFOAM is molded into one side of the case and the other one says Coleman Chiller.
Google also found similar items branded as Lifoam Freez Pak.

I like them because they're reusable.
You get back from your trip and toss them back in the freezer for the next trip.

Missed riding yesterday because of dealing with some plumbing issues. :) But today I did about 95 mile round trip up to a covered bridge and back. One brief, light rain shower but otherwise nice weather.

130 mile ride through TN, NC, and VA. Stopped to fuel near Grandfather Mountain NC. Nice and cool up there. Then came home via Hwy 421 the Snake and had a cup of soft serve ice cream at the Shady Valley Country Store, then home. Here's some pictures.

Took the front grill off to clean bugs off the radiators, and it turned into a compete washing and detail. After that it was pool time to cool off.

Yesterday, I took a ride to a family gathering.

Today, 7/28/2024 did not do anything with Spyder. Life got in the way!!

On Friday, picked up the bike from the dealer after the 9300 mile service and a new rear tire. They had a Kanine in stock so I just went with that. Surprised to find out that replacing a rear tire is a 3 hour job - at least that is what they charged me for the labor. Ouch.

Went on a Spyder/Ryker group ride thru Estes Park in Colorado today... 240 miles in total for the day

Man did they see you coming. It is only a 1-hour job. I'd look for a new dealer; or learn to do it yourself. Last one I had changed cost me $108 plus the cost of the tire.
