I did Lamont's wobbly mirror fix and it works great. They are now rock solid. The job would be a lot easier with the bike on a lift - the two screws on the bottom of the turn signal are very difficult to get to without standing on your head. I see why those two lower screws were missing on the one Lamont was demonstrating on for us. He was surprised - I'm not!
BE ADVISED - Although 1/4-20 X 1/2" screws were recommended by Lamont, one side was still not tight enough and I had to use a slightly longer one. Also, I did not run the tap all the up the shank. I stopped when a bit of the tapers tip appeared, making for a tighter fit for the screw... and I applied some blue Loctite to the threads, just for giggles.
