WHAT ARE U SMOKING IN THAT PIPE...

Foam earplugs might help with the wind noise from your helmet. I already have Titnitus ( ringing in the ears ) 24/7

;)
I do wear earplugs often while riding, at least on long trips. On the Spyder, switching helmets helps, some are louder than others. A change in windshield will probably also help at some point. I stopped wearing earplugs altogether riding my RT after switching to a Cee Bailey's windshield. It is amazingly quiet now.

I really don't want an excessively loud pipe but I do want one that makes the spyder run cooler, "Less Bars" and has a little more performance.

I have no expertise in this field so I will narrow it down to 2 choices.

If you had to choose the "leo Vince" or the "Hindle", what would be better for what I am looking for?

Like I said, I would rather have a quieter pipe but one that breathes better and performs even better than the stock one does....

Thanks in advance guys!

I vote for the Hindle. I've never seen or heard a Leo Vince in person so my opinion is biased.

OMG, me too

Motza6, I've got the same condition. Unless you have it, you can't fully understand:(. I've never thought about or considered suicide, but I have wondered if when that moment comes, will I be free of this ringing torment, since it is attributed to my physical body.

Sorry y'all...got a little deep there.:opps:

I will be asking you all about helmet choices a little later, since my ringing is aggravated by certain noise, and that in-turn kicks off my migraines which can last for six days. That and allergies are my physical concerns about ryding my :spyder:, when I get her.:2thumbs:

Yep!!!

I've been to many ENT doctors, had a brain scan ( MRI ) found nothing... Blood test showed higher levels of mercury in my blood which I can contribute to the large amount of fish and sushi that I've been eating for 30 years. I just grew a new set of flippers, and gills.
check out the product called Alpha Stim, google it. Seem to help me a little with my titnitus. Decrease my noise level alittle, it stopped me from waking up at night while I was asleep. You now how that is :banghead: :yikes:

Drives me crazy. Mine is so loud at times, I can speak really loud and still here the ringing... I to have thought about will it stop ringing when I die...
who knows :dontknow:
Now that I'm riding my spyder I don't give a ***** anymore... what he say???

Yep!!! Been there, done that. Dude, I had one dentist say he could fix it by breaking and re-aligning my jaw:yikes::yikes::yikes:. I'll take a look at the Alpha Stim. Thanks!

Married since 4-ever and my wife still can't understand that sometimes the ringing is louder than she is talking.:banghead: So she shouts:yikes: and that increases the ringing.nojoke But, whatayagonnado? Buy a :cus:Spyder and have some fun B4 the ringing stops. That's what I'm gonna do.:b2b:. Wonderful wife said she would contribute to SpyderQuest if it would get the garage cleaned out and the shed finished. Who's using who? :)

You need to chelate the mercury...it will cause more neurological problems than you think...plenty of good products...

As far as spinal mechanical problems go, find a progressive chiropractor...a lack of a proper cervical lordosis will create neurological deficiencies...this is not opinion...plenty of medical literature to back this up...

I second that motion. We have always enjoyed the quiet sound of the stock muffler, and don't find the looks objectionable. We are even getting used to the burn mark. Never saw a need to change. There is enough wind noise in your helmet with the Spyder to wear you out on a long trip, and affect your hearing eventually. No need to add to that noise.

Scotty: I'm pretty much with you on this. If I hadn't seen the Hindle, I probably wouldn't be thinking about an aftermarket pipe. The stock exhaust is big. And, since there are different pipes to compare it to.. it seems bigger, perhaps! :) My Frontier V6 has a cat-back Cherry Bomb Pro exhaust w/dual pipe system, I had installed last summer. Sometimes, it is a bit much. But; it does sound good - just not all the time... Lol! :)

If the Hindle wasn't so expensive ($629 w/new '09 pricing), I would be more excited about getting one, I think. But, at this point, I simply don't have that kind of $$$ to spend on a luxury like that. Later on down the road, I'll see.

:yikes:
Now that's the kind of customer everyone wants. Put out a defective product and wait till they get use to it.

I had a burn mark at about 600 miles and that was one of the main reasons I started messing with pipes. That and I think the stock pipe is pretty ugly. :sour:

My first pipe was a Warrior pipe and I thought it looked pretty good and sounded better than the stock pipe.

Then when I was in Daytona I met Magic Man and heard his Micron and knew that was the best pipe I had heard to date.

I ran the Micron for some time and now I'm running the Yoshi Tri Oval with the baffle in and I'm really liking it. Don't know what I'll have next week but right now this is the flavor of the month. :doorag:

Do you get to demo those free of charge? :)

At 2700+ miles, no burn mark, yet. Besides the Hindle, the only one I've seen that doesn't look like an all-out hot rod mod is the Two Brothers. These 2 fit the look. The others really look like add-ons. And, that's fine too, if that's what you like. :)

YMMV

We have the Two Bros CF on our new SE5.

It looks neat, but I have to totally disagree with you on looking like it "fits" the look of the Spyder better than the others. Because this system looks busier, and like more of "an add" on than any other can we carry.

But that's the idea of a mod to have it look different than stock. If you want stock looks and sound why not just leave it stock and keep your money in your pocket?

But many of us don't want to look or sound "stock" like every other Spyder out there. But that's what makes the world go round, different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, we're easy. I'm certainly beginning to think that this is BRP's plan all along. Waiting 3-4 months at a time for warranty parts, and never addressing the muffler marks at all. Seems like a case of "If we just ignore them, maybe they'll go away." I will admit that our burn mark is nowhere near as pronounced as yours was. If it was, I would either insist on replacement, or paint the muffler myself. Don't know if even the 1500 degree paint will hold up, though. I also don't know if the Warrior can has a cat converter in it, but the aftermarket units don't. My conscience gets to me when I think about running without it.

I will agree it does look like more of an add-on than the Hindle. The Hindle nails it! But, the Two Brothers works. It flows. The shiny cans with the small welded on exit just don't look great (ie Micron) to me. And, yeah, they are nosier from the vids, I've seen. Again; just my opinion. The Bruce Fab pipe looks fantastic! 'Just a bit louder, however, than I think I would like over the long haul.

And, for me personally; I want very little to no chrome (or polished stainless) on my Spyder, if I can help it.

YMMV :)

What exactly do you mean "sounds good"? That big chrome one looks hhhhuuuuggge. I'm looking for a deep muffled sound. The sharper rumble like the HDs use would be too much for my tinnitus. You are the Spyder Guru, so what would I need? I like the look of that Yoshi, but can the big logo be removed?

Thanks Sensei,

I'll bet you'll want the Warrior muffler. Quieter than stock but with a deep, good sound. I have a black one from a Midnight Warrior in the works right now... for me.

See mine here: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=50891&postcount=74

Some pipes are simply 'slip on'...meaning, take off the stock, slide on the other, and go?

Others have to be welded??

The hindle replaces with stock with very little work...which others are like this?

Love my Leo Vince, not to loud, not to quiet.
Has a nice growl probably like the hindle, which I have not heard.
The Leo Vince is quiter than the two brothers though.
