Playing tourist through some of the most beautiful country in the land has absolutely nothing to do with a position on the 2nd Amendment.

It will be much more comfortable than riding back East, especially before the sun rises and after sundown BUT if you are not used to temps above 95 or so or have any compromising health issues you can get into trouble very quickly. Summer is not the time to be sightseeing in the desert. Plan your route so you can stay above 4,000 feet if at all possible and if you must cross the lowland desert do so very early in the morning or after the sun goes down. Also, if you ride the high country at night be aware AZ has elk and mule deer. Colliding with one of those can ruin your day.
Get to town, call! We can show you the sights in our little town. We have a few places to eat, stuff to see, and whatnot. Number below! Enjoy your trip!! Joe

You are going to have a great time, I'm sure. Last July me and 3 friends did the same thing, we took the whole month of July and hit a lot of National Parks along the way. We visited 19 states and covered 9100 miles. Left Arkansas on July 1 and got back home July 29. Here is a few of the National Parks we visited. Mt Evans, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite N.P. , Four Corners, Deception Pass, Pacific Coast Hwy. , Coulee Dam, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone N.P. , Theodore Rosevelt State Park. Even stopped in at Sturgis, but not during the rally. We had a blast.
You should invest in a National Parks Pass, that way you don't have to pay at every Park you visit, just show your pass. Enjoy your trip.

You're being a little paranoid of Cali. Is it the fear of violence that concerns you or the fear of carrying without a CCW?

If you like Lewies, I think the Sled Haus in Lead is actually better... As for beer, the local brewer Crow Peak has a few good ones.

I'm in my 70's and have been biking throughout most of the nation, including the South, my whole life. Never needed to carry a firearm in all that time and don't see the need now. I notice you're from one of the whitest enclaves in the South so perhaps that has something to do with your outlook. To be truthful, you have a lot more to fear from the CA traffic than you do from perps with guns.
look for LEWIE'S.....
best dang burger u'll ever eat....
