A few weeks ago we did a 492 mile day trip to the mountains. It was great, and could be the last time that we actually get to ride the BRP for up to a year. This past weekend (10/4), I decided to take one last gander at the beach before the season ends. I am definitely more of a mountain person, but it is a blessing to be able to jump on 421 and head south 3 hours and be at the ocean, or go north on the same highway and be in the mountains. We started out with 7 spyders and 3 rykers from the Raleigh area and headed south. About 20 miles or so outside of Wilmington we picked up 3 more spyders and cruised on down to Carolina Beach. The weather was beautiful and our little 20-30 minutes of snapping pictures was enough beach time for me. Then we went back about a mile to Bowman's and grabbed lunch. It was a great day with friends. Now 8 more days until we head over to Maggie Valley to get a mini vacation in, while bringing much needed relief supplies to the locals in Western NC.
