• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, today is the big day...

Continued prayers for healing and comfort. God gets us to it and He will get us through it! God bless both of you!:pray::pray:

All things are possible with the Lord! My prayers and best wishes go out to you both. Keep up the updates if you can. We are all thinking of you both.

Have been keeping track of Y'all for a while...

From me and all the other lurkers, sending love and prayers to the both of you...

Did I tell you Ice Cream is yummy?

Looking forward to seeing Y'all at Lamont's BBQ...

Finally, Yazz, he was advanced to full liquids...so ice cream is coming next! They used to keep some up on the floor but I don't know if they still do. There are quite a few fast food places not too far away from the hospital. Parking is a :cus: and it will melt before I get back if I try to walk during the day. My daughter's roommate took me out to the house earlier to pick up a few things so I wouldn't lose my parking spot. Biggest problem he's complaining about is he's hot one minute, freezing the next...I told him "welcome to my world! Menopause!" Sheets on, sheets off, sheets on...Meanwhile he's freezing me out with the temperatures he's got in here.

I had a retired hospice nurse come crack the whip today...she got him walking, drinking more, etc. He got a talkin' to! :lecturef_smilie: Since then he's looked a LOT better...I got him up walking and drinking more and... Had another retired nurse BRING me a whip (8 ft long!) to crack over his :cus: if he acts up again...

Flamingobabe, we're leaning towards pursuing treatment here rather than MD since he would have a delay in chemo until after he was seen there. The doctor here will consult with them and determine therapy, to be started next week. We'll let you know if we head that way.

My mother had colon cancer and that was 25 years ago. She's now 85 years young and doing great. The treatments are far better these days so keep the faith. Best wishes to you both.

I think a colon cancer would have been better than what he's got...his cancer was in his colon (and small intestine) but it's not a colon cancer. CT in Wyoming showed a 3.5 cm mass; pathology specimen 10 days later was 5.5 cm (actually there were two nodules on pathology report, both roughly 5 cm)...I'm trying to figure the size discrepancy out (maybe docdoru can help)...is it that fast growing (:yikes:) or what? Oncologist says fast growing tumors tend to be more responsive to chemo, so that could be good. In any event, I am glad to report he is looking (and feeling) a lot better today.:yes:  His stamina seems better, surgical pain is less, he's getting up and down without help...we're waiting for the kids and grandkids to stop by...that should help his spirits! Thanks, again, for all your support and prayers.

He got to eat REAL food today...well, as much as hospital food can be considered "real." :roflblack: Actually he's been advanced to a "soft" diet. Doesn't get any pepper yet, which we thought was interesting. He is off oxygen supplementation, getting around better. He should have Mediport put in Monday (access for chemo) and get to go home then if still doing well. :ohyea::yes::ohyea:. Things are looking UP! He even got a miniature Spyder today from FANG...a red Hot Wheels one that the 3 yr old grandson kept trying to steal from him! Thanks, Fang...he's been able to drive his Spyder today! :firstplace:

Hope Ed gets to leave the hospital soon. Sorry he's facing chemo. They do have fantastic combos of drugs now. Hopefully he'll continue to do well and soon be riding again.

The solid food (even if it was the mush diet) should have helped make him happier. Hope the digestive problems are improving. I know from experience that it's rough when they rework your plumbing. It takes a while to get back up to speed. I'll bet he'll be overjoyed for the day he can eat that first hamburger off the grill. Here's wishing for a trip home real soon, and a tolerable chemo regimen.
