• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vibration.....

vibration rpm 3400-4400 rpm

It's good to see compennsation for lack of engine harmonic balancer qualitity---if it works great---but he problem origination is with the engine harmonic balancer mounted on the front of the engine crankshaft. Same rpm in any gear will cause vibration--usually 3300-4500rpm. I appreciate any vendors effort---but I don''t see magic -...

BRP have let themselves down.

Bought an F3 SE6 in July and love the bike , HOWEVER ! just made my first long trip down south where you can drive a little faster and discovered what I now know to be the common problem of the bike behaving like a meat grinder between 67-72 mph. Contacted BRP and got the cold shoulder so then went on to the dealer who now just does not return my calls. Looking at the Smoothspyder tensioner but feel aggravated to have spent 25K on something that has such a basic design flaw, BRP wake up, be honest and have some respect for the people who are buying your products. Perhaps BRP could consider the prospect of providing a little customer service here ! you know in the long term it will save a lot of money in keeping customers coming back...........maybe Hyundai might consider making a trike!! just imagine buying from someone who cared about you even after you left the showroom and gave a five year warranty.
Sorry to rant, needed to let it out , will order a tensioner.

My 2012 RTL has the vibration at app 68-74 mph...There are variables..Higher the octane ,the better...Ryding 2 up is worse...up hills and lugging is worse yet...If I had the money I would order one today...But,I would also realize there are variables that may cause you to feel some still.. to Capt Jim!!

Vibration Fix

I have to confess I've been lurking fir a long time with nit much to add to the forum. However I just had the 3000 mile maintenance done on my F3 and the vubration is 95% gone. I complained about it when I brought the SPyder in and they showed me the tension update they had received from BRP. I have a copy and will post in when I'm back home next week but basically the new tension they recommend is less than half the old shop manual number.

For ease of use to folks here I put the Krikit on it with all wheels still on the ground and I'd call it about a 205 reading.

I'm not sure how this will work for everyone else but I had the same bad vibration most of you do and it really is 95% gone.

Have others seen this new document at their dealers?

I found that my belt vibration

diminished considerably when it loosened up to around 220 on the kricket ll gage with all 3 tires on the ground. Also went with Amsoil 10W40 and only 5 qt. (not 5.5 qt.) and found smoother shifting and improved MPG by about 3 MPG on my 2014 RTS SE6. Rebalancing the front tires also helps a bunch to reduce vibration. BRP's attention to tire balancing leaves a lot to be desired along with several other fine tuning adjustments. But, they're not the only bike company with poor fine tuning reputations. I think it's an industry standard. After most owners work out all kinks in their Can Am spyders they end up sweet running machines.

Thanks for this info, any chance you can post/upload a copy of the tension update your dealer got from BRP ?

My husband's F3S is going in for the first service in a week or so and it'd be great to make sure our dealer has this info, as his vibration problem is a big issue.

Here is the link to a previous post on belt tension where I posted the June 2015 TST (Technical Service Tips) Bulletin from BRP.

There has been a lot of discussion on here about belt tension. Just do a search and you will see.
