• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Valve Adjustment

Did the valve adjustment on my 2009 GS at 84,000 miles. Only needed one shim on the rear cylinder (exhaust). All of the rest are in spec., but not by much. They are all getting tighter (less clearance). Probably should have changed them all (shims are cheap - labor is not), but dealer did not have the shims for this. Had to get the one shim we used from a Harley dealer. All is well for now.

This was only the second time valves were inspected. BRP maintenance schedule is overkill.

How many miles do you have on your Spyder now that you've noticed the first one (rear cylinder) getting tight and out of spec?:dontknow:

The work was done at 84,000 miles. That one valve was probably out of spec. for awhile. I can't remember when the first inspection was done. I think it was about 40,000 miles ago. At that time, everything was in-spec. There has been only two inspections and one adjustment.
