From reading all the comments on raising the scoots high enough to safely
remove/install the bar, I have a novel thought. Why not have a 2 piece splined
or ratchet/socket type joint in the middle of the bar? Keeping the bar centrally
located should be simple to do. A good side benefit would be all the nuts, bolts,
screws and spacers would not have to be touched.
Just an idle thought on my part.

Just reread my post and I missed the boat entirely on this one. Put it
down to a brain fart/old age. Cutting off one end of the factory bar would be
a requirement in order to remove the old bar. Of course getting a good sway
bar to start with would be even better.

Exactly what I was thinking as I read your first post. Not to mention a great deal more machining (higher cost). Then you would certainly get wear in the splines creating additional issues down the road. It's the WD-40 rule. Thinking outside the box is how we get all of these wonderful advances in our products. But for every good idea, there are at least 40 that don't work.
