• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I HAVE READ NUMEROUS THREADS AND WATCHED VIDEO'S ON TRAILERS AND TIE DOWNS OF SPYDERS. THERE ARE COUNTLESS WAYS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS TASK. I OWN A STANDARD 12’ X 6’ ALUMA UTILITY TRAILER WITH A WHALE TAIL RAMP. I USE THE TRAILER FOR HAULING EVERYTHING FROM DIRT TO ROCKS AND WOOD. I DID NOT WANT TO DRILL INTO THE DECK, SO I BUILT A REMOVABLE MARINE PLYWOOD DECK AND INSTALLED E-TRACK.

I PURCHASED A UWS EC20261 48-Inch Heavy-Wall Aluminum Cargo Carrier Box, RigidCore Lid, Silver (48” X 20” X 20”) TO STORE ALL MY TRAILER AND MOTORCYCLE GEAR. IT ALSO BLOCKED MOST OF THE ROAD DEBRIS FROM HITTING MY SPYDER.

I SEALED THE PLYWOOD WITH SEAL-ONCE MARINE READY MIX. IT'S A PENETRATING WOOD SEALER WATERPROOF AND STAIN, WATER BASED, ULTRA-LOW VOC FORMULA FOR HIGH MOISTURE AREA. I COATED THE PLYWOOD WITH 3 COATS.

I HAD A FRIEND, WHO CAN WELD ALUMINUM, BUILD A BOLT DOWN SYSTEM WITH 3/8” ALUMINUM ANGLE IRON. HE WELDED ONTO MY TRAILER 4 BOLT DOWN JOINTS AND ROUNDED THE CORNERS. THE TWO BACK JOINTS AND LONG FRONT BAR WERE ATTACHED TO THE PLYWOOD WITH T-NUTS AND 1/4-20 x 1-1/2 Button Head Socket Cap Bolts Screws, 304 Stainless Steel 18-8, Allen Socket Drive, Bright Finish, Fully Machine Thread (1/4-20 x 1-1/2). 1/4” RUBBER WAS ADDED TO THE BOX TO REDUCE RATTLING AND ALLOW A TIGHT FIT. HE ADDED TWO FRONT ANGLE IRONS TO THE FRONT BAR AND THE EXTENSION WHICH SANDWICHES THE UTILITY BOX AND SECURES IT IN PLACE. NO BOLTS WERE REQUIRED TO BE DRILLED INTO THE UTILITY BOX.

I INSTALLED 2-2’ E-TRACK THAT HELD THE Mytee 7" Motorcycle Wheel Chock Steel for E-Track/X-Track System - Black. USED THE SAME T-NUTS AND SCREWS. I INSTALLED A 5’ E-TRACK THAT WILL BE USED WITH THE HEAVY DUTY E-TRACK D-RING CLIPS. I USED THE SAME T-NUTS AND SCREWS.

I INSTALLED A 2’ E-TRACK BETWEEN THE CHOCK E-TRACKS, BUT INSTALLED VERTICALLY. THIS WILL BE USED FOR THE Condor Motorcycle E-Track Adapter for Trailer-only Chock/Trailer Stand (Part #: E-Track Adapter) & the Condor Motorcycle Trailer-Only Chock/Simple Chock for Wheel Chock or Trailer Stand (SC-2000). THIS ALLOWS ME TO HAUL MY 04 ROAD KING. THE CHOCK IS REMOVABLE AND ALLOWS THE SPYDER TO ROLL OVER THE ADAPTER.

AFTER GRINDING OFF THE LONG SCREWS ON THE BACK SIDE, I RESEALED ALL THE T-NUTS AND SPLINTERS WITH THE SEALER. I WILL BE ADDING A VERTICAL SPARE TIRE RACK ON THE FRONT TONGUE OF THE TRAILER WITH LOCKING NUTS. I PURCHASED RATCHET TIE DOWNS, GOOD FOR 2000 LBS.

THE LOCATION OF THE SPYDER CHOCKS WAS DETERMINED BY THE LOCATION OF THE SYPER ON THE TRAILER, DETERMINED BY THE TONGUE WEIGHT. THE FRONT OF THE SPYDER IS CROSS TIED FROM THE WHEEL A-ARMS VICE THE TIRE RIMS. THUS, NOT EFFECTING THE ALIGNMENT OF THE FRONT END. THE REAR TIRE IS TIED DOWN LEFT, RIGHT, AND CENTER. THIS REDUCES THE MOVEMENT LEFT, RIGHT, AND FROWARD WHEN BRAKING. THUS THERE IS LESS MOVEMENT INSIDE THE CHOCKS. AS ADDED SECURITY I ADDED A Heavy-Duty 15FT Security Cable with Loops - 10mm (3/8 Inch) Cut-Resistant Braided Steel Cable - Versatile & Weatherproof - Security Chain for Padlock. I FEED THIS THROUGH ALL THREE TIRE RIMS AND LOCK IT WITH A MASTER LOCK. ALSO, TRAILER COUPLER AND BALL LOCKS WERE ADDED. THE TRAILER WEIGHS 600 LBS AND THE SPYDER WEIGHS 1300 LBS; I TOW WITH AN AUDI Q5. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO HAUL YOUR SYPDER, AS STATED BEFORE I DID NOT WANT TO DRILL INTO THE BED OF THE TRAILER. ALSO, I ONLY HAVE FOUR BOLTS TO TAKE OUT AND THEN IT ALL CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE TRAILER. I HOPE THIS INFO WILL AID OTHERS!
