I know this is wishful thinking; but, with all the problems of waiting for parts, I would think that BRP would have a method to transfer parts between the assembly line over to replacement parts. Unless the assembly line is running on "just in time" inventory, I would think they would have enough parts to cover the every now and then transfer.
In my previous life I was manager of 'special build' air conditioning units. If a customer called me about having a problem getting a part for a unit that was down, I would check to see if we had enough parts to build our new units for the next week or two; I would also see when that part was scheduled to come in. If we had enough parts for scheduled units with a short lead time on that part, I would have the part transferred to our Replacement Components Division to be shipped to the customer; this would all happen within a day.
I now find myself waiting to get my spyder back b/c of a backorder for a clutch release pin. I've already posted on another thread about my spyder problem; so, i won't bore you with those details. I just hope the part comes in before our scheduled leave time of 9/16 for our trip to Rhode Island.
