• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Never thought I would say this, but... I'm thinking about returning to the world of two wheelers!

I've been part of the Spyder family for a bit over five years now, ever since I traded in my amazing but too heavy Honda Gold Wing. But the recent addition of a brand new KIA Telluride added to my wife's Mini Cooper convertible means that the Spyder RT no longer can stay in the garage. I have it outside now, covered with a decent vinyl cover and the battery tender attached with a long extension cord to my garage. I'm just not sure that I can keep it outside on a permanent basis, going through the hassle of taking off the big vinyl covering and putting it back on each and every time I go for a ride. Pretty much any two wheeler would fit behind the Mini in my garage, so I have found myself thinking about returning to the world of two wheelers instead of three. I would hate to give up the stability and comfort of the Spyder, as well as the need to return to a clutch lever, tip-over risk, and likely loss of cruise control. I guess I'll let the Spyder just live outside in the cold (and snow before too long) for at least a while before making a decision. I wonder if there is such a thing as an upright seating bike of no more than 400 pounds with cruise control, a decent windscreen, and enough power to use the Interstates. This sure takes the nice edge off getting the new KIA.

Give yourself an unbiased, thorough, physical evaluation before you decide. Most of us can relate many stories where strangers came up to us and said they were no longer able to safely hold up a big two-wheeler and/or duck-walk it out of a parking space, and therefore were considering a 3 wheeler. Also, have a talk with your insurance agent. Times have changed. Either way, ride safe!
