• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rumor control on the new 2014's

I was at my dealer today and I was asking about the 2014's. They mentioned that a transmission problem was found with the 2014's and it was being corrected at the factory before the units were shipped. He said the resulting problem was delaying the first shipments of the new Spyders but that everything would be fine when they finally arrived at the dealerships.

Anybody else heard anything similar? Or is this just a false rumor that got started to explain why no units have been received?
I heard from a friend of mine that has a friend the rides a spyder that has a friend that lives in Canada that has a friend that has a friend that works at BRP. And I heard that they accidentally put the spyder frame on the assembly line backwards and ran the first several dozen spyders through the assembly process before they noticed that it was on backwards. That's why the transmission had a problem it had one forward gear and six reverses. This could be just a rumor I'm not sure?

according to this guy there is no problems at all

I hate to throw water on everybody but I was just at my local skidoo dealer and he still has not gotten a lot of customers spring snow check sleds yet. If they are this late on those who knows whats really going on.

Thats Great. I Love it.. im a sucker for rumors

No truth to transmission issues... They're just taking their time to make sure that everything is perfect! (This info is straight from BRP)
Well supposedly the rumor I posted was straight from BRP. LOL. I'm pretty sure your source is the same person who said the 2013 models were being redesigned to eliminate the heat problem people were complaining about. Yes, they redirected the heat from your ankles and thighs to the engine.

My dealer told me today that it is because of higher than expected orders.

I heard it was because they wanted to get all the recall letters printed in advance so they wouldn't run out like they did in 2013. Guess they want to have a stack of them ready to go even before the first is sold.

Enough with the rumors. The real reason is that the :cus: had a minor :cus: issue with the :cus:. This caused an additional :cus: and a :cus: :cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus::cus: which resolved the :cus::cus::cus: :cus: issue. I hope this has cleared everything up. :roflblack::roflblack:

That reads like a FOIA response.

Local dealer had a 2014 RT that a number of folks tested over about a 4 week window. They did uncover some problems that he would not discuss but said they had been reported and required dx and action.
Years ago I had the first Lexus ES 350 sold by my dealer. Two weeks later they were putting a new transmission in - turned out a part in the tranny was faulty and it didn't show up until we had quite a few miles. They had a couple that got out and they fixed them and then corrected the problem in the factory. Six months later a major gasket failed and they had the car again for a few weeks. These things happen but the reputation of the manufacturer is built on how well they rapidly learn and how well they stand behind their product. It is one thing to question if BP is standing behind their product based on ST experiences but it seems a bit crazy to challenge or make assumptions on release dates.
Steve Jobs never gave release dates, always said the release will be when we have it right, not a marketing date!

I hear its becuz

The reason for the delay from my source is that it was due to the framulator valve being put on the engines improperly. They have to be soaked in 73 degree water for 38 minutes before being ok to put them on!:chat::hun:O

I heard they were to hot to handle, They are on a cooling rack. :chill: :roflblack:

They should have gone with a CVT!! But then that would get rid of the need for those sexy paddle shifter and I wouldn't want to do that to anyone.

The CVT...
They certainly DO have that technology available already...
a one litre, 101 hosepower engine, AND all-wheel drive capability!
NOW; are you interested? :D
