Hot restart problems are a known problem with some RTs. First, be sure you do not have a fouled plug or bad plug wire...unfortunately, usually the front. This is a common cause of hard starting and rough running. If all is well with the ignition, you will need to use a work-around. There is no known cure yet. If you have long cranking, crack the throttle and try again. Usually this works. If not, open the throttle fully, crank to clear the cylinders, then start again with the throttle either closed or cracked.I have a related question. After I have been riding for a while and stop, the bike is hard to re-start -coughs and sputters. Am I doing something wrong?

Don't assume anything. I had fouled plugs when I picked up my RTS the first day, then every few hundred miles thereafter. If you are down on power, or have problems starting, it is a warranty problem. Have your dealer take a look. BTW, if the cause is a bad wire it will not show up on BUDS. If you have problems starting cold, you likely have ignition or plug problems. If the problem is only on hot restarts, it is more likely inherent in the breed. Try the cracked throttle starts as a cure.I've noticed this problem too. I wouldn't think the plugs would be fouled at 2,000 miles. Then again, I may be wrong. It's very embarrasing when you're in a group of ryders espousing the virtues of you're :spyder2:, then it won't start correctly.:gaah:
I believe that if you re-start the Spyder within 5 minutes of shutdown you don't have to go and push the mode button...
If the operating system is by Microsoft, we may have just found the reason for all the failure codes. Viruses! :gaah:
Geez!!!! My big problem is keeping gas in the tank??? 145 miles and it's on empty. Now solve that one!!:gaah:
I used to use that time to let my two wheeler warm up, I think BRP couLd have set this up better than thisAll you need to do is turn the key before you put your helmet and gloves on by then it would have gone thru its computer checks push mode and off you go :2thumbs:
