• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS as a get away vehicle think not

No one would dare use an RTS as a getaway vehicle unless they leave it running. My only gripe so far is the starting of this great machine. Having to sit there and wait for the screen to come up then punch mode button to bring up the run mode screen before starter will engage. This is really silly. Hope some one in near future finds a way around this. J W Miller

All you need to do is turn the key before you put your helmet and gloves on by then it would have gone thru its computer checks push mode and off you go :2thumbs:

We've all become so very used to getting exactly what we want when we want it that the thought of actually having to wait ten seconds for something is now unthinkable?
Spiidr's plan of attack works just fine to fill the void...

I dislike the wait as well, but the Syder is not alone. Many diesel engine vehicles, including my (now ex ) school bus had to go through a cycle like that.
The bus was a lot more colorful. The dials spun, light flashed and so.
I do like a couple others here, turn the key to on, then put helmet and so on.

If you think it's bad now you should have seen the prototype, it took twice as long. :gaah:nojoke

Thanks fellows that is how I do do it.But start system seems silly to me.

Little bit of info you may not be aware of. When we sat down with the engineers and talked about the computer in the RT vs the RS we were told that the RS has over 4,000 lines of code, the RT has over 400,000 lines of code. :yikes: That may be why it takes some time to boot up just like your PC or Mac.

If the operating system is by Microsoft, we may have just found the reason for all the failure codes. Viruses! :gaah:

I use the entire 9 seconds to read my card each time I start her up:ohyea:

The RS takes plenty long....of all the mod's, isn't there a mod to eliminate this stupid feature?

:dontknow:
Every now and then, ''AFTER SETTING OVER NIGHT'' I'll turn on the key and the
check DOESN'T come on, I hit the start button and it starts immediately.
So i guess it could be programed out??

I find that there are quite a few occasions that the start up screen does not come on. Sometimes it is a short duration between start up s and other times it is a long duration. 2010 RTS

I have a related question. After I have been riding for a while and stop, the bike is hard to re-start -coughs and sputters. Am I doing something wrong?
