There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'insert'. Why would you remove the liner, if that's what you mean?

Jim, Since your profile indicates you have an F3, Im assuming the insert you refer to is the plastic bucket that comprises the frunk. Shouldn't be an issue this time of year, but in summer temps there might not be as much air directed around and sideways through the radiators. Other than that, I dont see a problem-- To avoid having to connect the battery tender to the battery each time, we just installed the fused lead on our 16 F3T and led it out the left side so we can attach and detach the tender/maintainer easily.
Just our setup - whatever works for you.

Sounds like someone left the battery access door off of yours. Mine certainly is NOT.
(Sorry. Different model. That might be normal for some.)
IF....you think you need to remove the liner to connect your tender, you need to re-think your connection method.

Removing the insert should have very little effect on the air flow as there is cover under the insert that directs the air to the radiators, and the only opening to the elements is in the rear.

If you ryde without the liner, the frunk lid will be loose because the top edge making contact with the gasket is what keeps it from moving, personally I would not want to ryde with my lid that loose. I connect my battery tender to the left side upper A arm. it is just long enough to Zip tie it on the bottom of that A arm. no need to open the Frunk lid. The liner can sit in its spot without the push pins. Lamonster recomends leaving them out for EZ access to the Battery area.
