Ride-On Formula

I inadvertantly ordered the ATV formula Ride-On when I thought I was ordering the automobile formula. In the past I always used the motorcycle formula on my bikes, but this is for the new rear tire that I'm installing on the Spyder next week, so I thought I would order the automobile formula. Now I have a 32 oz bottle of the ATV formula instead.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the different formulas? Does it really make that big a difference? Would there be any harm in using this bottle?

Hi, I used the formula , sold at a motorcycle shop, did not specify whether for auto or bike. Was in contact with the manufacturer to discuss thing's. The formula is the same and it WORKS GREAT. The only difference being is the amount you need to add to the tires. A bonus, it is not like slime and goos all over when changing a tire. The tire shop had no issue doing a swap over for my rear tire, and I looked at it, pretty much in the centre of the tire . Excellent product as far as I am concerned, even did the pull behind for the spyder. Hope that help's.

The formulas are not the same and they do not function the same. You definitely want the automotive version. If you go to this much trouble you want to do it right and get the optimum service and performance. You'll be kicking yourself if you don't.

They differ....

They don't lable them differently for no reason. If they were all the same they would just lable it car, atv and motorcycle. I'm not fond of putting anything in my tires but then I have no problem fixing a flat on the road. If I were to go for something like this I would go for the Run Flat tires like on the mini's.

Then what happens if you run sealant and balance beads...:dontknow:

my understanding it is the same, but the difference is the amounts in a bottle...auto sells packaged in bigger, more volume bottles and motorcycle in smaller. they work the same.

Seems to be a difference of opinion as to whether they are the same or not ............................... Best bet is to contact the mfg. especially since they have different labels and sizes, I can't help because I don't know the answer.

No, I do not sell Ride-On, though I do use it.

I did research the Motorcycle vs. the Auto Car formulas quite some time back. They are quite different because of the different needs and concerns presented by these 2 very different tire construction and function types. It would not be dangerous to put the motorcycle formula in the Spyder tires. You would spend more money and get a lesser result. But it would not be critical. It would be worse to put the car tire formula into the MC tire. Though I have not researched the ATV formula, I think that would probably be a bad idea in the Spyder. I would certainly look into it closely before I did that. But still, you'll be way ahead putting the Car formula in your Spyder. They are designed for each other.

If the formulas were the same why have 2 completely different labels? And why put a smaller amount in the MC bottle and charge more for it than the larger Car tire bottle? It's because they are not the same.
