Ride-On for your Spyder

I added ours in today... But I went by the tire size chart on their website :dontknow: It said 9-11 for the fronts and 13-16 for the rear.

So I did 10 & 14.... Took it less than a mile to smooth out...:2thumbs:

Well put mine in yesterday and took a trip with it today and had not trouble it smoothed out in about a mile or two and I will have to say I think my spyder handles better after then before and I notice less vibration in my bars. Ride on rocks great product:2thumbs: would recommend this product to anyone.great pieace of mind knowing it is there.

Ride-On UPDATE!

I continued to experience a "wobble", especially at certain speeds. After trying my wife's Spyder, which was perfectly smooth at all speeds, I decided something was not right with mine. I took it to a tire specialist and told them to remove the Ride-On and rebalance the tires to see if it would make a difference. It was then that the real problem was discovered. Both rims are bent! (Michigan potholes?) At least now I know why I had a wobble. Now I have to order more Ride-On so when I get the new rims, I can once again install it and know that I will finally get the same smooth ride that my wife enjoys!

PS I wish I would have had them save the Ride-On, I could have re-used it!

I still have to get mine in the tires, but one thing I have to remember to do is to take the weights off the rims...unlikely you have two bent rims...did you take the weights off when you added the Ride-On?

Both rims are out of round, I saw them spin them up. I didn't take the weights off right away, but then again I didn't know the rims were out of round. It was suggested to take them off when I continued to experience the wobble. I must have gotten used to the wobble because it wasn't until I took my wife's Spyder for a ride that I realized mine had a serious front end wobble! Coming back from Chicago, I thought my front fenders were going to break off!

Geez, that's horrible...where and when do you think you bent the rims? Wouldn't you need to jump a curb or something serious to do that?

Have you ever been to Michigan? The potholes are horrendous! Thinking back, I believe it actually happened in parking lot at slow speed.

If you still have the stock wheels, as i do, they are not bent, they are just a poorly cast, out of round, chinese wheel, i have two sets and they all wobble. The kenda's are not much better and only make it worse. A cast wheel would crack before bending. Installed michelin exaltas on the front and noticed it took the same amount of weight in the same place, a little on one wheel and a lot on the other, meaning the rims are not balanced very well. All is smooth now

I've loved the Ride-on in my stock rims--- rydes GREAT---- just got some 6-spoke rims and I think I put too much in as they don't seem to balance out.......

Been there, but a loooong time ago...fishing trip as a kid with my dad...gorgeous state!

As far as the potholes go, they must be man-eaters to be bending your rims! Ouch!

Fire,

That's an interesting point...we all know that the Ride-On balances the wheels with the stock rims...not sure how many have used it with the 6 spokers (ah hem, which I really like and want to get someday!!!!)...hope you get that worked out and get some good numbers for everyone...

Does anyone else have the Ride on seeping a little out of their tires? Not where there are any holes, just around the edge near the rims? I have the phantom black rims, which I painted gun metal, and it seems to work well other than the seeping.

If Ride-On is seeping out, air probably is, too. Likely either the tire beads were not properly seated on the rims, or the tires were damaged at the sealing surface when they were changed. The rims could be damaged, but that is less likely. Tires should be blown up to the maximum allowable pressure listed on the sidewall (I like even more) to seat them, then lowered to the correct pressure. Monitor the pressure, and if you are losing air fairly rapidly, you have a problem.

It has nothing to do with the rims. I've had Ride-on in these rims for over a year.

I haven't noticed any problem with losing air thus far. I've also only noticed it on the front wheels.

It should work just fine with any of the various rim options.

On my stock rims I put about 9-10 oz. in and they are great--- but then I read that 13 oz is recommended. I don't think you can get much more than 14-15 out of the 16 oz. bottle... so I kept squeezing and squeezing and think I have around 15 oz in each.... rode really rough for a mile then smoothed out-- but wasn't as smooth as my other rims.

I was losing air along the bead on my right rim--so that didn't help-- got that fixed and have not put them back on yet (didn't trust them in Chicago. I'm going to ryde with my stock rims-- and then quickly change to the 6 spoke and see how big the difference is-- hopefully it will be gone now that the pressure is holding.... otherwise I'll have to pull them and get all the ride-on out and start over again.

Cool...I have a few more ESI additions to go before new rims...they'll be added sometime in the future...oh, guess I'll have to move my GloRyders too...

I think this has to be a fluke. RideOn should naturally flow out to the tread portion of the tires while you're riding and very little, if any at all, will be on the sidewall portion or the bead of the tires. If you let the Spyder sit for a long time, the RideOn would then settle at the contact patch of the tire to the ground, once again in only the tread portion of the tire. I think that RideOn is too thick to be constantly running to the bead / rim portion of your tires and continually seeping out.

Ordered using the link a bit over a week ago, received earlier this week and did my tires this morning. One of the easiest projects I've done on my Spyder so far.
