It's not a ride on a Spyder, and it's not me riding either, but it is a pretty good ride that's only about 35 minutes away from where I live (I'm further out, away from the city, thru a heap more of the same sorta roads!
) and it's a vid made by a local who used to ride a CF Moto 450 (on some pretty nice rides tho, then more recently, a KTM 890 Adventure bike, but for this particular ride, is on 'his other bike'.
So please, check out this ride - The Famous Motorbike Mecca (in Oz, anyway!
) that's 'The Gorge Road, South Australia', with OldMateMoto.
One thing to bear in mind as you watch it tho, the wide angle lens of the Insta360 camera that is mounted on the chin guard of his helmet for most of it does tend to 'straighten out' a lot of the bends - they are pretty much ALL a WHOLE LOT tighter than they look in this vid (there are NO 'sweeping curves' on this road, any you might think you can see on the vid are effectively 'varying degrees of hairpin turns' - check out the yellow curve warning signs.
) And while I'm at it, the in-fill panels you can see filling the gaps below the Armco guardrails have been put in specifically because so many 2 wheel riders were losing it on the bends and sliding thru UNDER the Armco, often leaving important components behind at the 'Safety Railing'!
That aside, enjoy the ride. Maybe you might even want to subscribe - OldMateMoto does post up some interesting rides!
Ps: If you like the looks of this ^ particular ride/road, you might want to hang around and check out his ride along 'Corkscrew Road' once it hits - it's a road that runs off the Gorge, and many people who've done The Gorge Road on 2 wheels simply WON'T use it, cos it is, and I'll quote some of them here... "too twisty!"
- As if that's really a thing!
