Relocate Throttle to Left Grip?

In riding with a wide variety of people it seems you get a wide variety of Spyder questions. Recently due to right hand/arm issues I was asked if the throttle could be relocated to the left grip on a 2014 RTs SE. I bet if possible it would have an interesting learning curve. Has anyone had it done or heard of it being done? I suppose with deep enough pockets anything is possible even if not fiscally feasible.

My bet would be that it could be done, although it may be quite a job. If anyone knows what's involved, it would probably be someone in the Enabled SpyderLovers Section. :thumbup:

I think the major problem would be to get a barrel that rotated the proper direction (clockwise for left side). Maybe if you used a 4 wheeler or snowmobile type throttle( thumb operated) you could make it work without too much trouble/expense. Also since the left foot is unoccupied maybe a gas peddle arrangement might work.?

Thanks for the ideas. It seems several people have made the change and either gone hand or foot. someone mentioned that the newer bikes make the left hand setup too difficult. My only sticking point for the foot control is panic situations but then I guess there is a learning curve with everything.

But aren't we already used to taking our foot off the gas in our cars in an emergency?:dontknow: And yes no matter what you do it will take awhile to get accustomed to if they have been doing it in a more common fashion.

After installing the Tri-axis handlebars, I believe it can be done pretty easily EXCEPT the rotation of the throttle will be reversed...
