• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

reimbursement from brp

I traded my 2011 rts for a 2013 limited in florida this past February. Since bringing it home to pennsylvania it was in the shop for a month waiting on parts to do the ball joints, tie rods and tie rod ends.now after losing my fog lights and air compressor for the suspension I find out the fuse box cover was damaged when the bike was put together in florida allowing water to get into the electrical system looks like it will be in the shop again.I have no complaints with the dealer here in pennsylvania they have bent over backwards to help but the are 80 miles away. Has brp ever reimbursed for downtime and travel expenses? If so how do you go about it?

Nope. I have never seen anyone talk about getting reimbursed. It would have been nice though.

Shreck,

When and if they reimburse someone there is clause in the letter from BRP that you receive stating that you will keep it confidential. Sometimes the reimbursement is in the form of discounts for service/accessories for your spyder. Ooops, did I say that.

Sorry to hear about all of your troubles. I would doubt that BRP would reimburse you for travel expenses. I hope you get your issues taken care of soon so you can get out and enjoy your new Spyder.

IMO, no on any reimbursements for :spyder2: down time. There have probably been a few special deals made out of the public eyesight--but we are not supposed to know about them. Reimbursements that I speak of would have to do with lemon type :ani29:'s or issues with the engine that were above and beyond.

No way..!!

if they did we would have a lot less venting going on here..but agree it would be nice for folks living so far away from a certified dealer...:dontknow:

Why would BRP reimburse for an error made by a dealer:dontknow: I think your beef is with the Florida dealer that put the Spyder together.

Ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends, fog lights, compressor, all brp supplied parts, not dealer supplied.

spyder

I'm in the same boat with a 2012 rt se5 ltd with only 4500 km and I have to replace purge valve,02 sensors, oil leak, coolant leak, water pump.
I talked to BRP and when dealer sends in warranty work Brp has said to me they will be compensating me.Don't know what they have in mine.

OM WARRANTY STATEMENT

3. EXCLUSIONS—ARE NOT WARRANTED

Incidental or consequential damages, including without limitation towing, storage, telephone, rental, taxi, inconvenience, insurance coverage, loan
payments, loss of time, loss of income.

OM - pg 164

Bummer for the problems. No way is BRP gonna do much... sorry to say.

I would still put most the blame on the dealer. They should have found a way to fix you sooner... stolen parts off new Spyder if need be.

That's what my (New) dealer Freedom did for me. The old dealer in Gainsville, Ga. had very poor techs, they did more damage than fixing. That's IMHO.

I'm sure that Wyliec's statement on that particular statement is different, but myself and a friend of mine who owned a Spyder (sold it already) had BRP pay for towing. My situation was when I broke down, the dealer was closed so my insurance towed me to my house, and BRP picked up the tab from my house to the dealer. My friend's issue was his :spyder2: was stuck at a dealer for over 3 months without even being touched and finally got BRP to tow it to another dealer.

THAT BEING SAID... last time I spoke to the owner of the dealer that got both the Spyders, BRP told him over the phone to add the towing fees on the invoice, yet they have still not paid for it.

Compensation versus Retail Price

If BRP were to initiate a compensation program to make up for sloppy dealer work I would not be able to afford one and neither would anyone else unless they were a multi-millionaires.

It is a nice day dream item!

What now?

A starting place.

OM statements to me, are references of reality. If both parties can reach an agreement outside of those, that is acceptable to both. That's a good thing.

I had an emissions part go south [EMC] After the BRP Warranty was over, But BEfore the Federal emissions warranty was over, Brp gave my dealer a stone walling, So my dealer gave me a store credit for the money i had to pay out to expedite the repair [375$] Still took over a month to get the EMC BRP made out like a bandit, My dealer ate a little, And i was not a happy camper, That was Strike one for the Spyder the dealer and BRP.......

Just wondering (and I mean no offense in what I'm about to say). What was it that made you not a happy camper reference the above scenario?
