• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Real Bike?

I am expecting to get a few words in the future from knuckle heads.

I am in my mid 40's, and chose the more expensive, sometimes troublesome Spyder over buying a 2 wheeler for other reasons that you all are already familiar with.

I am a techno, gadget geek, who prefers to be on the leading edge of technology, rather than stuck in the past. To me this is where the spyder falls. Even though I prefer its safety and stability over two wheels, the main reason for my decision was that the Spyder is a new, original design, and I cannot imagine that it is not the wave of the future for Trikes. Like Quads were to the old off road 3 wheelers. Besides, to anyone other than a traditional Biker, the Spyder just looks cool and advanced.

So say what you will biker dudes, maybe when you cant ride two wheels anymore, Harley's version will be out by then.

We've never heard any disparaging comments directly, but I did overhear this conversation at a truck stop:

Trucker #1: Those have got to be the stupidest-looking things.
Trucker #2: I dunno, I think they're kinda' cool.
Trucker #1: Why would any grown man ride a three-wheeled motorcycle?
Trucker #2: Don't think of it as a motorcycle, think of it as a Dixie snowmobile!

I thought that was just outstanding. I'm filing that one away to use myself someday.

.... but most say "that is what I am going to get when I don't feel safe on my two wheeler".

If I got that line, I'd offer to give them a ride on my pillion. The way I ride my Spyder around corners, they wouldn't feel safe at all! :doorag::joke:

.....think of it as a Dixie snowmobile!

I think I'll have to save that one myself. When Nancy first got her Spyder, someone pulled up to me and wanted to know all about how I "converted that Skidoo." He never did buy into the fact that it was made in a factory. Considering the source of its manufacture, perhaps it is a Dixie snowmobile, anyway.

I've made the comment a few times saying that it will convert into a SeaDoo when streets get flooded... Some have laughed, but I worry about the ones that their eyes got bigger!:roflblack:

Here Is my answer to that question.....

When are you going to get a real Bike????? Answer: If you mean a Bike like every one else in the world has...............NEVER!!!!!

I had someone say that one time. We both took off out of the parking lot and as we were sitting at a stop light, my spyder blew his V-Star 1100 away on the light and rolling. I stopped at the next light and said "now here's a real bike". Light turned green and I blew him away. Now that's a Real bike. oh yeah.....
