• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Raincoat Water Repellent

:2thumbs: We have Frog Togs and are pretty happy with them . Gave them a good work out in Gatlinburg last year at Spyders in the Smokies. Ran about 2 hours in the driving rain and yes we got wet, soaked actually but for driving on wet road and light rain they are good, light weight and breathable. Not so good in prolong driving rain.

Hey guys, he is looking for something for the windshield it appears, not for wearing. I think the one product is just called Raincoat.

Now, I just use what ever cleaner I have. It doesn't matter about the rain as I don't look through my shield, I look over it.

I use Raincoat. It works like a charm on my helmet and windscreen. Just apply it with a the supplied sponge. Once it dries, wipe it off. It dries quickly depending on how much you dampen the sponge.

I may have to use the lemon pledge just to see how well it works. Dunno if I would enjoy the lemon smell on my visor though!

Are you guys saying that lemon pledge lets rain bead off of the windshield?

Yes :doorag:
It's much like waxing (or maybe exactly like waxing) the windshield.
The water will bead up and roll off though not exactly like it does with RainX.
However, RainX isn't necessarily safe on the windshield while Pledge is.

I have used Rain-X successfully on numerous shields, both motorcycle and helmet, but it will eventually dull or craze the plastic. This requires replacement of helmet faceshields after about two years, and polishing or replacement of the windshields after several years. Works great, but not that much better than any good wax, Pledge, or an anti-fog product, IMO.

RainX is made for glass, doesn't do well on plastic. As Scotty said, crazes the plastic after a while. Years ago we used some stuff called RepCon on our helicopter windshields. Worked wonders. I used it on the soft plastic back window on my MG and it kept it from crazing or turning brown.
I used RainCoat on my shields and windscreen (and on my boat). Works pretty well, but then most of those products work as they say. Can't say which is best.
