FWIW, this seems pretty controversial as to if it should be supplied, if it was deleted for safety, or if it was deleted for a cost saving measure.
There seems to be many ways a buyer is viewing this, if listed it is supoosed to be included even though the options list is subject to change? How anyone could think the options catalog would be a viable options list seems odd, because there are more detail mistakes than the electric release.
The primary manual of reference, beyond a build sheet would be the IPC (illustrated parts catalog) and it's latest revisions.
Curious, I checked a 2014 RTs and RTL in the parts manuals. These were both for an SE6. Each bike utilized the same illustration. Both showed what appears to be the electric actuator. It is listed as item # 444. When you try to order this part, there is no part number for it, but has a statement "Not Available For This Vehicle".
I am going to lean more towards the safety side of this. I don't have the electric release for the frunk. But any action that could be a simple mistake, could release the brakes. I would rather see an unused switch location utilized to lessen the likelihood of an accidental brake release.
I do not like the cable setup, it works but does not appear it will last a long time. The cable angles are weird and bind.
My goal, leave the oem cable setup, pickup a couple of electric actuators, some waterproof momentary switches and keep the parking brake system, isolated from the utilities. Have electric frunk and seat releases.
All the best to those of you getting this added, I even wondered about it when we purchased ours. Currently, it's no big deal to me.
All the best with it.
