• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pre 2020 RT owners - can you stand up while riding?

I don't have a Spyder yet but will this summer. I HAVE TO OR I'M GONNA GO NUTS! That's what I'm telling my wife anyhow. My question is on the 2015 to 2019 RT, can you stand up while riding to stretch out the kinks? They have shorter footboards than the new ones so I'm not sure. I've always been able to stand on the pegs on my sport tourers. It helps with my back and hip pain. Thanks in advance.

I can stand up on my 2015 RTL with standard floorboards to stretch. Floorboards are longer than my size 13 shoe. I'm 6' 1", I've been on those long rides where I need to keep going and stretch

As stated above, yes, you can stand up while riding. One thing to be aware of though, is that the pre-2020 RT's have a "breakaway" right side floorboard. It is supposed to "only" breakaway with excessive brake pedal effort, but can give way under severe stress such a standing your weight on it and perhaps hitting a road bump just right. It only drops about 2 inches, but could be quite startling if you had your weight on it at the time.

Much safer to stop and run around the Spyder a few times, while massage your behind!
