There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question about Lidlox

Questions

Does anyone know how the Lidlox LL-1012B is supposed to look on a 2015 Spyder RT Ltd? On mine it overlaps the bevel on the stock end cap, so it looks like there's a big gap between the Lidloz and the end cap. Shouldn't it have a smaller diameter and sit right where the bevel stops? Have I got the right one? I've sent a query to the vendor (Lamonster) about this but no reply yet - I expect they're tied up with Spyderfest stuff. Anyway, I'm really curious about it and thought I'd see if anyone here knew the answer.IMG_20170430_114648.jpg

You have to take the end caps off to install Lidlox correctly. Be very careful on the throttle grip, DO NOT turn it while taking the end cap off or putting the Lidlox on. If the throttle spring pops out, it is a MAJOR PITA to get it back in correctly. Here is the install video from Lidlox.

EDIT: Sorry, my bad, the end caps do not get removed. My RT is in the shop, so I can't look at mine, but I seem to recall that there is a gap between the Lidlox and the end cap due to the curvature of the end cap. Looks to me like you got it right.

Now I'm confused. I watched the Lidlox video before starting and they say to leave the stock end cap ON (in fact, to keep one hand on it to prevent moving the throttle spring) and stack the. Lidlox on top of it. They said it will cause damage if you try to install it without the stock cap. Regardless, my picture is the nonmoving handgrip. I had no difficulty installineg the Lidlox and it is snug against the stock cap. However, there is the appearance of a gap due to the beveled edge of the stock cap and the large diameter of the Lidlox. That's what worries me.

See my edit of post #2. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks! It doesn't look all that bad, just not quite like the pictures I could find. I figured I'd have it set right if I had the wrong parts and live with it if they were correct. Just didn't want to continue with the installation until I knew.

I have them on my RT, with Lamont's IPS Bar End caps...
It looks really cool; but adds just enough width to the bars, that they will try to dig into my thighs on a full-lock maneuver... nojoke

I was worried that they'd be be too long for the outdoor cover, but it just fits. I'd better leave the little nubs pressed in so they don't create a stress point though.

Just finished replacing that dorky whip antenna with a shorter one. I've read here that people have trouble getting the old antenna out with the visegrips, but I found out it was easy as pie once I got some rubbing alcohol in there with a q-tip and let it seep into the threads.

Looks right to me. Of course I'm assuming I installed mine correctly, which I'm sure I did. :D

Like you, I don't think the fitment looks *right*, even though I know it is. I may just turn some replacement endcaps to replace the stock ones with a bevel that more closely matches the Lidlox (which is a great product, not complaining about them at all).

Jim

They look better if you have the IPS matching End Caps (requires a longer screw). I will look and see if I have a picture. My RT is in the shop right now, so it may take a few days if I don't have a pic already.
