• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yesterday, I joined Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) and participated in my 1st PGR mission this morning. Today's mission was to provide escort for Sgt John Michael Peck, USMC, from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), MD to his new specially built Smart home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Sgt Peck was severely wounded by an IED on 5/24/10, while on routine patrol in Afghanistan. A quadruple amputee, he has been in WRNMMC for over a year and was released to travel to his new home. The home was built with the help of the 'Tunnel to Towers Foundation', the 'Gary Sinise Foundation' and 'Homes for our Troops'. As the only Spyder ryder, I was placed directly behind Sgt Peck's vehicle with a Harley Trike positioned in front of his vehicle. Below are a few pictures and an awesome link to a local story! It was truly a humble experience and an honor to have been a participant.

Great photos,Good job,My wife and I are both PGR ryders and go on every mission we can but they put us on back with the other triks most of the time,nice to see Spyders up front:clap:

Thanks! Love your flag setup on your Spyder! I would like to get a large flag but not interested in getting a tow bar and haven't really look into other options besides the two flag holder I've already put on my Spyder!

Thanks for your awesome support for PGR as well! I noticed there are 3 more PGR missions coming up in the Northern VA/Washington DC area within the 6 days! Although I work swing shift (3-11 pm), I should be able to participate in all as they are projected to be in the mornings! I'd think the Arlington National Cemetery has quite a few missions. Congratulations on your 1st PGR mission:2thumbs:. I too am a PGR member and try to get to as many missions as I can. Have been to about 10 so far, haven't been in PGR for very long. It's an honor to help the Military any way we can.............THREEFEET USA Ret.

Thanks to all of you PGR riders. I like your mission. Since there are so many of you in this thread, maybe one of you can tell me how to contact a unit in the South Puget Sound (Seattle, WA) unit. I would love to go on some of your rides.

Thanks! I didn't realize there were so many PGR members on this site! That is so AWESOME!! Where and when you in New Mexico? I was stationed @ Holloman AFB, NM (49 CRS) repairing F-15 engines from 1986 to 1990. :doorag:

I ordered the dual side flag tall poles setup. It comes with an American Flag. I ordered the POW flag, a USAF Flag, and a retired USAF Flag from SSP Flags, LLC. @ http://store.sspflags.com/. Flags are 11' x 15". Just a few days ago, I ordered the PGR flag from the PGR web site. Hope this helps!! :doorag:

We've been so honored to ride with the PGR here; glad you have been able to hook up with a local group. Yesterday's PGR ride had to be the coldest one I've been on, with wind gusts 22+ mph. I made the mistake of looking at the temperature gauge in our room, which listed the outside temp. at 72. I used that as my guide for dressing, leaving my chaps and jacket lining at home. I met Ed at the oncologist's and complained about the weather being colder than I thought it would be. He told me the outside sensor was in the sun so it wasn't accurate. Temps were in the 40s not 70s! Never again will I think that jeans + longjohns = chaps for warmth!
 
The PGR is the most emotional thing, I have ever done. I joined in FEB 1906, right after it started. I keep the Mission sheets for mission I have been on. A couple years ago, I counted mission sheets, something, I said, I would never do. I counted to 254 and quit. More to go then and now. the mission sheet was counted as one, even if if was KIA mission with more then one day or a Welcome home with one day. Please do remember, it may your first or 100 mission or more, but it is that familys first.
