• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Paint problems on hood, finish not warrantied

I bought my new 2011 RT in June of that year and when cleaning the first time I noticed odd little white spots/pimples along the crease that runs on either side of the hood. This fall I discoved the paint is now popping off the hood at these locations, just small little spots except for one that is about 1/4" long but narrow. My dealer seen it and said he would take a picture and contact BRP as he had never seen this before. I just got word that BRP does not cover thier paint under warranty, only if it came that way from the crated. A replacement hood is $400 so I will see if I can put some pin striping on to hide it for now. So, I have hear of a few others that have had paint issues and BRP brushes it off and will not warranty. This would not be so bad if we could buy touch up paint but.... nope.. no one sells touch up paint for the pure magnesuim. My only recourse is to let you know that you are on your own when it comes to paint problems. BRP picks and choses what it warranties I find out and as always, buyer beware.

Randy

Paint touch up

I have had good luck with (AutomotiveTouchup.com) if you have the color code they can match it. You can get spray can or brush and add the clear coat and you are all set.

I'm very interested in an accurate answer as to what BRP's legal obligation is regarding paint issues. It just doesn't seem possible that they can exclude paint in the factory warranty. I can't find anything in writing, can anyone else ?

Do you see anything in there that specifically excludes paint? if their warranty covers workmanship, a lousy paint job should fall under that.
But I am NOT a lawyer.

Wow, I have been looking for 2 years for a paint match like that, thanks I will get an order on the way!

Regards,

Randy

I would contact BRP directly and go around the dealer's back. Power sport dealers seem to operate different than car dealers when it comes to product warranty. For the money a Spyder costs, and the fact the frunk cover is rather inexpensive, I would guilt them into good will gesturing you the part. Wholesale, I don't imagine the part is very expensive to them. FYI, if you Google search Spyder Salvage, you will find in California they are salvage dealers for Spyders. You may be able to find one there. FYI...there are lots of Spyder body parts on EBay.

My 2012 Syder has paint peeling off the front clip just below the frunk and the dealer is covering under warreny and has ordered me a new front clip.:D
