• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Owners without problems - Rollcall

New member here... wife and I got our RT-S in early May (it was her Mother's Day present!), and we've rolled up 3500 problem free miles (knocking on wood right now).

My dealer (C&C in Brighton, MI) confirmed that our RT is not part of the clutch recall. We've taken 3 trips with our trailer, and we've absolutely loved the ride, handling and performance.

Have done the routine maintenance and mods (GPS & CB so far) with my son's help, and we are very impressed with the innovative design and engineering of this great machine!

We're hoping for many more trouble free miles!!
welcome:congrats:

I have not had any problems what so ever. I also disagree with firefly we have seen the threads that start who has dps problem or brake or fire or surge. And i'am sorry for anyone who has had these problems but for once we get a positive post and you what to dissect it. I,am pretty sure he did it to show the positive side of the spyder and thats all! :gaah:

Wow, long time no see. Just visiting or are you coming back to the fold?

Hi Brian, just visiting. I log on fairly regularly to see what everyone is up to, but I don't post often anymore. There are some Moto Guzzi forums on which I am pretty active, though. Hope all is well with you and Deb.

Take care,

Bruce

2010 RSS with 2200 miles and no issues other than the air box filled up with oil but have since changed air filter systems and no problems.

love it would not trade it for any thing it is my olny mode of transportation in less i steal my wifes car

As we have all seen lately, much of the forum is becoming dedicated to posts about the problems people are having with their Spyders. This is a great place to discuss those issues, and they are very serious concerns for those that have them as well. I also know that some people are reading about them and are posting they are know scared to be a Spyder Ryder.

What I would like to see in this thread is for people who are not having problems to check in and just let us know. I have a feeling there are many more people without issues that are just not posting about it. Perhaps if they chime in as well we can get some sort of perspective on how widespread these issues really are.

If you would be so kind as to post your Spyder's year and model that would be great as well.

No problems here with my 2010 Spyder RT-S

Glynnk:clap:

Got my Phantom in Oct of '09 and and going to take her in for the 6000 mile service this week, nothing wrong with it EVER. LOVE every minute on it!

:spyder2:

I don,t know if this is a good idea. Sometimes when one brags about how good their spyder is, it comes back to bite you. But anyway I have a 2009 full moon :spyder2: and it runs great for me. Me and my wife like it a lot.
This is the second best thing that I ever bought. My wife was the first.:ohyea:

If you're just stating facts...It isn't bragging...

Any more than those with problems saying so is bashing...

Wife's 2009 RS---16,500 miles with no problems. We had initial computer problems but they were solved in the first two weeks of ownership. I don't consider out of the box stuff to be a problem. Since then, the bike has run well and needed only required servicing.

I have PE#115 with over 10,000 miles and I only have had one problem, not enough riding time!!! :( I have an 11 month old daughter now and I have not seen a mod for a side cart yet!!! :roflblack:
As far as the bike goes, I have only done maintenence on mine and have had no problems at all. :D

Ditto for me- same purchase date, scheduled next week for 6000 mile service and no problems (except mine is the fast color - yellow) :2thumbs:.

2010 RT-S PE 0391 -- No Problemo!

Nearing 3K miles and second service. No mechanical issues at all. Took a deer hit back in June. Spyder weight and stability saved my life. Deer took my left-side mirror assy. Replaced good as new. Taking it in for 3-5K service on August 17th ... Adding Elka Stage 1+ shocks, and having them do SE5 clutch recall, even though I've had no problems with it.

And in September ... Spyders in the Smokies!! Whoohoo!

:2thumbs:
