There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Owners without problems - Rollcall

7K SINCE 2ND WEEK OF JUNE, NO PROBLEMS, HAD IST. UPDATE {only one been notified about} 2009 SE5, SEAT COWL, 6 SPOKE RIMS, [GLORIDER LIGHTS ON THE WAY], MICRON EXHAUST [I LOVE THE MICRON] NEIGHBORS HATE IT. BTW THE ONLY THING I HATE ABOUT MY SPYDER IS THAT I HAD TO PUT IT IN TO WINTER STORAGE TODAY :cus: VERY HAPPY :spyder2: OWNER

Chiming in.

Demo model '08 Yellow SM5, bought in Sep. '09 with 2500 on the odometer at a good price. What pushed me over the edge was a great financing deal and the promotional "free" stuff with purchase.

Love it. Bought it to become my daily back and forth to work driver (80 mi round trip) and has filled that role perfectly. 33 - 35 mpg; better gas mileage than most economy cars and :cus: more performance than any economy car getting that kind of gas mileage. Just over 8k, 6k of which I put on. Has never left me stranded.

Local dealer has been extremely helpful with any problems I have brought in. I didn't consider the very slight intermittent wiggle at medium speeds a problem so haven't mentioned it. Have 1st update and intend to get the 2nd as soon as I get my rear tire swapped out. Bald at 8k.

Overall a very happy :spyder: owner and would recommend one to any friend and discourage my enemies....wouldn't want them having that much fun.:roflblack:

No real problems since steering got fixed - a little brake squeeking while cold, but that goes away quickly, and I LOVE the rumble, snap-crackle-pop from that sweet-voiced Hindle!!!

'09 SE in "Arrest Me Red" (a cop friend nicknamed the color)
Purchased Sept 11, '09
Just over 2500 miles on now....
Mileage averaging between 28 and 32 mpg

What part of SC are you located in? We may have to see about meeting up for a ryde sometime.

Thanks for the input, and welcome!

I will have to remember the line above for the next time people are asking me how I like my Spyder. :roflblack:

Lovin' my Phantom

I have a 2009 Phantom, 6700 miles, no problems whatsoever (well my brakes are a lil squeaky - any suggestions??). Hindle exhaust, Corbin seat, ISO grips. Completely happy with it!!! :firstplace:

I have 18,439 right now, had the steering update, hit a deer, ran on the salt flats @111.8 (b.s. speed but its the first time), rode in the snow, stored outside up until a month ago and was drove it.

Problems I have had are , exhaust won't hold up to running it as fast as it will go for continuous periods of a half an hour plus, the only one I have had hold up is the leo vince and the NMN prototype.

The brakes squeek when you back up or have not drove it for a while, especially after riding it in the rain.

Its not fast enough for me.This is my main complaint.

the shift rod came off and I had to drive in 5th of 20 miles and 4 stopsigns, I fixed this with my spinal cord injury in the parking lot of a gas station.

The 2nd biggest complaint is when you run it "hard" thru the twisties sometimes it goes into limp mode because the VSS module comes lose and you have to get off, put your wheelchair together, open the hood, push it back down and get back on. I fixed this with taping a pennie above it on the fuse box, I tried form tape and it would were down.

A small problem is that the the inside of the front tires go before the rest, some have said that its because of the aftermarket swaybar but unsure.

I have changed the oil every 25miles with syn. oil and have not have the values and cam adjusted yet, once I hit 25k I will have it checked or if it starts to have trouble starting, they tighen on this motor so it begins to start hard is the sign I have read.

All and all its kept me going besides me wanting it to be my zx12 with a 195hp so yeah what I have learned on here is to NOT screw with the electronics in the thing but I could have just got one that was put together right.

I have ISCI handbrake, floor boards, leo vince and NMN prototype exhaust, eviozone swaybar, Evio air intake, TB juicebox, custom wheelchair mount that goes over the back seat for my rigid frame quickie GT wheelchair and I removed the rear fender.

Spyder problems ????

I have not had a single problem with the Spyder .... Except my inability to read the owners manual first in regards to how to start ... :opps: and had the dealer come out to rescue me. Paulsons in Lacy Wa. excellant service.
We are happy campers! :2thumbs:

2008 SM5 12500 miles, update to the update, exhaust smell, my dealer told me my spyder came from BRP missing the exhaust gasket. been waiting 14 months for one to come in from what they keep telling me. other than that no problems.

Are you talking the big one where the muffler 90* pipe clamps on to the header pipe?

If so, I have two sitting here gathering dust. Send me a mailing address via PM and I'll send you one.

If you're talking the two smaller ones up on the header pipe to the headers, then Honda Goldwing gaskets are better. Search on GL1800 for the part number.

Love my Spyder

I have an 08 with the updated comfort seat, back rest, different grips and the hindle exhaust. I have almost 17,000 miles on it and I've never had any problems. I am selling my Spyder because I have a deposit on the RTS and I hope I am as lucky with the new one.
