• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sound out!

I'll go first.

I have 10' RT and it is in for the 600 check. I took it in with 704.
In this time I am still a nubie and do not feel 100% with the way the machine handels.
I hope to pick it up tomarrow.
Needless to say it has been the wettest summer in two years.:chill:
I look forward to riding it to go shopping for rain gear.:shemademe_smilie:
I'll check back in to sound out.:ani29:

You brought this thread back to life alright.

I am currently up to a little over 11,500 miles with no major issues on my Spyder. Loving every chance I get to ryde it. :2thumbs:

Mine is kinda new, but so far a minor no-start issue (resolved) and the clutch recall (resolved). After that it's all good. The bike is running very well and I am happy. 3500 miles since 1 June. So I'm off to a very good start. :2thumbs:

3500 Miles & Counting - AOK

New member here... wife and I got our RT-S in early May (it was her Mother's Day present!), and we've rolled up 3500 problem free miles (knocking on wood right now).

My dealer (C&C in Brighton, MI) confirmed that our RT is not part of the clutch recall. We've taken 3 trips with our trailer, and we've absolutely loved the ride, handling and performance.

Have done the routine maintenance and mods (GPS & CB so far) with my son's help, and we are very impressed with the innovative design and engineering of this great machine!

We're hoping for many more trouble free miles!!

Not sure if this qualifies me...

My Spyder came out of the crate with a bad DPS unit, never worked. But I rode it 7,000 miles before it was discovered. I never rode another Spyder to know that my DPS was bad.

Got the DPS fixed and have put another 10k on my Spyder with zero problems (unless you count oil in the airbox which was easily corrected).

So really, I've got 17k with no issues. If I had not discovered the bad DPS (ok, Lamont discovered it but were talking semantics here) I'd probably still be happily, ignorantly riding it that way.

29 months; 28,000 + on the Odometer. Still runs and looks great. No broken or failed parts...knock on wood.:doorag:

Just noticed this thread. RTS manual, almost 7,000 miles. Purchased January 12, 2010. No problamos. (knock on wood) I'm lovin it.

It is nice to see many with no or very minor issues. I have owned a 08 RS M5 and only had a oil pressure sensor that went bad. Rode that Spyder for 6,000 miles and had a blast. Traded it for a 2010 RT manual trans. No prolems at all with this one. Only have 2,000 miles so far. Yes I agree there are many without problems. I feel bad for the people that just can't jump on and ride. I talk with people all the time about how great this rig is.

(2) 2010 RTS's. NO (ZERO) (NADDA) (ZIPPO) PROBLEMS. Mileage is 2890 on Black RTS and 3200 on Blue RTS. Check that lost a grommet on the Blue one. :2thumbs:

Syder with no problems

:spyder2:
As we have all seen lately, much of the forum is becoming dedicated to posts about the problems people are having with their Spyders. This is a great place to discuss those issues, and they are very serious concerns for those that have them as well. I also know that some people are reading about them and are posting they are know scared to be a Spyder Ryder.

What I would like to see in this thread is for people who are not having problems to check in and just let us know. I have a feeling there are many more people without issues that are just not posting about it. Perhaps if they chime in as well we can get some sort of perspective on how widespread these issues really are.

If you would be so kind as to post your Spyder's year and model that would be great as well.

:chat:

I don,t know if this is a good idea. Sometimes when one brags about how good their spyder is, it comes back to bite you. But anyway I have a 2009 full moon :spyder2: and it runs great for me. Me and my wife like it a lot.
This is the second best thing that I ever bought. My wife was the first.:ohyea:

Just turned 3000 miles on our RT... wife loves it (So do I) and the biggest problem so far is I have to take it in for 3000mi service and the Radio antenna fell off>>> and the brakes squeak sometimes..

'09 SM5-RS, just over 1,000 miles - not a single issue not attributable to the Spyder, more my newly developing ryding skills. Leaving today for Sioux Falls, SD!:f_spider:

'08 SM5 with 3,600mi. No problem until they mess with it during DPS update. Had to go back and they changed the evap can and did the second update plus the longer hose. All good now.

Bought my RTS used with 1600 miles on it 2 weeks ago. I've put 1200 miles on since then. Today took it for its 600/3000 mile checkup no problems at all. My dealer, Shawmut Hills Sales in Grand Rapids, MI is great. I LOVE IT
