• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil pressure, Volt Gauges

Well, now that I,ve got the RT down doing additional modifications, decided it was a good time to install a oil pressure and volt gauge. Wondering if those of you out there who have already done this have use some of the existing wiring for connection to the new gauges. Looking at the electrical schematic, looks like I could use the existing ground and 12V. That would take care of the volt meter and for the oil gauge, all I'd need is the wire from the sending unit added. Any help appreciated.

You might of misunderstood. I know how to hook up the sending unit but am looking for help with using the existing wiring at the old location for either the temperature or fuel gauge. Both locations have an existing ground and 12 volt switched power. I don't think I'll have to worry about running any wiring to the new gauges other than one single wire from the oil pressure sending unit.

You're correct on the voltmeter part. I used the existing wiring and simply plugged in my new AEM Voltmeter Gauge. It's VERY easy to find the ground and +12vdc on the wiring harnesses used by the old gauges. I simply crimped on the correct lug to the AEM wires and plugged them into the old harness at the 2 correct points. Pics to come, but here's the new gauge-
I used the black face and bezel.

Wiring

Spliced into the original wires from the Fuel and Engine temperature gauges to run my replacement Voltage Meter and Oil Pressure Gauge. Simply ran a wire up through the tupperware from the sending unit to the Oil Pressure Gauge to complete the job. Works fine. Another option I had was to run these gauges off of the switched source fuse block that I installed in my front trunk. Being lazy I opted for the easiest wiring option.:ohyea:

I have recently decided to switch these out and replace them with Cyberdyne Blue Ice digital gauges. (Voltage and an Outside Air Temperature)
