The drain plugs are apparently made from a relatively soft metal. Make sure your allen wrench is fully inserted before loosening or tightening to reduce the risk of stripping the hex hole. There are aftermarket drain bolts made of much stronger metal and using the more traditional hex bolt head design. You might consider replacing them at some point to prevent the problems others have had with the original drain plugs.
Replacing the the 'relatively soft metal' plugs with aftermarket plugs made of much stronger metal can sometimes be a trap!! The soft metal plug can act like 'a fuse' by giving up before the metal it's tightened into fails..... replace the soft plug with something made of stronger metal & the next thing that can happen is stripping or cracking whatever the plug is threaded into! And if that's the sump casting....
Can be safer just to be very careful with the soft plug!
