I decided to do an oil change on my wife's 2011 RS SE5. We bought it used from a deal and it has 5156 miles on it. Given the miles it my not be due but it can't hurt and at least I will be sure when were are in the oil's life.
I found this on the plug magnet. I wonder how worried I should be.
I told the parts guy that I preferred full synthetic and so he sold me the full syn oil and filers, etc for the same price as the kit that comes with the synthetic blend. I wanted to use Amzoil but couldn't find 5w40 locally and I only have small window of time to get this done.
The one concern I have with the BRP full synthetic oil is that it says right on the bottle is that it is designed for BRP products operating in cold temperatures. This bike will never be operated in temperatures I would consider cold.
I noticed a significant difference in the filter that was in the bike compared to the new one. The old ones had an embedded screen like you find in K&N air filters. The new ones are just a paper filter.
Obviously they gave me the wrong filter here.
