• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Full Synthetic oils that DON'T have issues with clutch slipping? RS V-twin motor

I have used Mobil 1 15-50 fully synthetic for years, always buy it in 5 qt jugs. Worked great in our air cooled race bikes never the slightest problems even when on tight tracks where the oil temp ran around 350F. Have used it on all my motorcycles that the clutch also ran the engine oil. Have always used it in my Spyder F3 as well with out the slightest problem with about 27,000 miles on the trip meter. Even used in Big Red the Man Toy.......My diesel tractor.

I ran that oil in my Legends race car for 10 years. Never had a clutch problem.
XJ1200 Yamaha motor, 130HP, 300+ degree oil temps and lots of clutchless shifts on road courses.
I did run an extra friction disc and double diaphragm springs, which was possible by removing spacers and rearranging things in the clutch stack.

.....
I guess it was just my luck that both previous RS’s had slippage issues, but not oil related.
Were you by any chance still running the OEM Kenda tires?? Quite a few of the 'more aggressive' Spyder riders here in Oz were caught out by that, especially those riding GS & RS models... thought they had CLUTCH slippage problems, but the problems were actually REAR TIRE slippage problems!

Swapped out the Kendas for a good quality car tire running at 16-18 psi, and voila, far less 'slippage' experienced, plus far better performance and tire life too! Wins all round!! ;)

Current RS still has Kenda on but previous 2 RS's, I had aftermarket tires.

Current RS didn’t have clutch slippages before and after oil change, plus the rear wheel slippage feels different which happens pretty often, more than Kumho.
