There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. North to Alaska Blog

Sounds fun for 2017. Being we were just in the Atlantic Provinces last summer I know they have roads.

Karyl, thanks for your after action report. I was changing my rear tire and had another opportunity to get more of the dirt off my Spyder but I know there is more hiding in places that I haven't looked. I think that if we had hit sunshine and good roads all the way we wouldn't have felt as adventuresome as we did. There was something really cool about riding down a muddy road in the rain, dodging potholes while wiping the mud from your face shield that made you think about the early settlers and what they must have experienced. If you can't stand to see your Spyder filthy then this trip isn't for you, or you will need to pull out the hotel room garbage can and give it a little bath each night like Roger did.

Karyl, you must have forgotten that the only person to actually run out of gas was our gas stop planner, Les. :roflblack: If anyone is planning this trip just remember that you don't pass up a station unless you know for sure where the next station is.

I agree with you Karyl on the all day Denali tour, it was just too long and I know that you can see all of the wildlife on the other shorter tours.

For anyone who is fearful of taking their Spyders on long trips you shouldn't be.

Next big adventure? How about the Owner's Event in Valcourt in 2017. Are you in?

+1 on the thanks to Karyl for heading up the North to Alaska expedition.

I'm in for Owners Event 2017 and Canadian Maritime Provinces!

Ann,

Are you the group planner for this one!

Les

Oh, yeah! :ohyea:

I could be. I'm planning on heading north from Las Vegas to Canada then east from there. Maybe even go all the way to Newfoundland, do they have any roads there? Scratch that, I mean New Brunswick and Nova Scotia then I'll hit Maine and New Hampshire and come back from there. We could go by Dave & Joni's in Buffalo then around the mitten of Michigan, maybe take the old ferry across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin. I want to go to Bemidji on the way home.

Are you in?

Sounds like a plan! Why not Newfoundland, too? :hun:

seriously I'm in :yes::yes::yes:

Guess who I saw at the I-70 turnpike rest area just east of Topeka? My brother and nephew and I were on our way to Kansas City and stopped there to get some lunch to take. When we went back out to the car, there was Dave & Joni's Spyder and trailer parked right next to my brother's car! So I went back in to look for them. They weren't in the restaurant, so I went into the ladies room and yelled "Joni!" We chatted a bit there then found Dave in the hall. They had been to Estes Park, Colo and went up Pike's Peak. They had stayed at Colby, Kan. last night and hoped to get through Kansas City before stopping tonight. Dave said he wants to get home by Sunday night, but that seems ambitious to me and Joni.

It was nice to see them again!

Very interesting reading about your adventures and seeing the pictures. If a trip towards the east is planned I may tag along.

In regards to the credit cards. From what I have read the US is finally going to give up their antique credit cards this October. Your new cards should work just fine in Canada.

You seem to have a knack for running into people!

Many thanks for the G, B & U

This credit card thing happens to me all the time at gas stations in the USA with my Canadian Visa. I get used to it, but don't like it. We're in LV soon & they are the worst of anywhere.

If you are talking about putting a ZIP Code in the pump. There is a formula for Canadians. Take our 6 digit alphanumeric postal code. Stip out the letters. That makes a 3 digit number. Add 2 zeros to the end. That will give you a 5 digit ZIP Code that will work with the gas pump. It has never failed me yet.

Ahhhhhhhh Bemidji. Don't miss the giant statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Say hello to Seth for me.

Thank you.

A Sunoco station in PA gave me that method & said it would work in all Sunoco stations in PA.

I did not know it would work all over.

Great news!

So far we have had a company come in and remove all the carpeting, door frames, baseboards, built in cabinets, and 2 feet of Sheetrock on all the walls. Currently waiting for the insurance adjusters to arrive today. One from our personal insurance ( not sure why he is coming as they told us that we are not covered), and one from our association insurance which has this coverage, but with a $10,000 deductible.
We have already paid out $3,000 for the removal so I may try to find two company's that charge a lot of $ for their work to try to get it above the deductible and then use what money we get to help pay for materials and do the work myself.

For those that have the time, Newfoundland is great. Anyone who can should extend their trip and go there. Ferry from the eastern end of Nova Scotia. Been there twice on motorcycle, need to get back again, soon. I'll remind you on the new thread.
