Karyl, thanks for your after action report. I was changing my rear tire and had another opportunity to get more of the dirt off my Spyder but I know there is more hiding in places that I haven't looked. I think that if we had hit sunshine and good roads all the way we wouldn't have felt as adventuresome as we did. There was something really cool about riding down a muddy road in the rain, dodging potholes while wiping the mud from your face shield that made you think about the early settlers and what they must have experienced. If you can't stand to see your Spyder filthy then this trip isn't for you, or you will need to pull out the hotel room garbage can and give it a little bath each night like Roger did.
Karyl, you must have forgotten that the only person to actually run out of gas was our gas stop planner, Les. :roflblack: If anyone is planning this trip just remember that you don't pass up a station unless you know for sure where the next station is.
I agree with you Karyl on the all day Denali tour, it was just too long and I know that you can see all of the wildlife on the other shorter tours.
For anyone who is fearful of taking their Spyders on long trips you shouldn't be.
Next big adventure? How about the Owner's Event in Valcourt in 2017. Are you in?
Ann,
Are you the group planner for this one!

I could be. I'm planning on heading north from Las Vegas to Canada then east from there. Maybe even go all the way to Newfoundland, do they have any roads there? Scratch that, I mean New Brunswick and Nova Scotia then I'll hit Maine and New Hampshire and come back from there. We could go by Dave & Joni's in Buffalo then around the mitten of Michigan, maybe take the old ferry across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin. I want to go to Bemidji on the way home.

Guess who I saw at the I-70 turnpike rest area just east of Topeka? My brother and nephew and I were on our way to Kansas City and stopped there to get some lunch to take. When we went back out to the car, there was Dave & Joni's Spyder and trailer parked right next to my brother's car! So I went back in to look for them. They weren't in the restaurant, so I went into the ladies room and yelled "Joni!" We chatted a bit there then found Dave in the hall. They had been to Estes Park, Colo and went up Pike's Peak. They had stayed at Colby, Kan. last night and hoped to get through Kansas City before stopping tonight. Dave said he wants to get home by Sunday night, but that seems ambitious to me and Joni.
It was nice to see them again!
Many thanks for the G, B & U
This credit card thing happens to me all the time at gas stations in the USA with my Canadian Visa. I get used to it, but don't like it. We're in LV soon & they are the worst of anywhere.

If you are talking about putting a ZIP Code in the pump. There is a formula for Canadians. Take our 6 digit alphanumeric postal code. Stip out the letters. That makes a 3 digit number. Add 2 zeros to the end. That will give you a 5 digit ZIP Code that will work with the gas pump. It has never failed me yet.
