Well, I've spent the last 6 months preparing and now it's go time. The Spyder is all secured in the back of the Toy Hauler, camper is staged to be loaded up tomorrow, then Friday morning we head out. We're making a 7 week loop from Indiana to Seattle via the Northern route, then down to San Francisco and back across the middle. Here's a snapshot of our route:

I've planned each of these stops to be close to an epic motorcycle road. First stop is Pikes Peak SP on the Mississippi in Northern Iowa, where I'll ride sections of the Great River Road this Saturday and Sunday. Then it's off to Niobrara SP on the Missouri in Nebraska for the Outlaw Trail along the Niobrara River on Tuesday. Next, of course, is the Black Hills, where we'll set up camp at Spearfish City Campground. Targeted routes here include Spearfish Canyon, Vanocker Canyon, Needles Highway, and points in between next Thursday and Friday.
That takes us through the first week. Hopefully I'll be able to post updates occasionally along the way. Truck, camper, and Spyder have all been checked out, serviced, and upgraded for the trip. Now we just need cooperation from the weather, forest fires, and gas prices. Wish me luck.
