• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Deanna, you may already know this but thought I should mention that the holidays are a slow time for hiring for Full Time. Once the holidays pass and we're into a new year everything kicks in, new budgets, new hires, etc. It sounds like you've already turned the corner and good luck with all things. Be positive and Happy New Year!

Here is the latest job search update ( 1/3/2019):

I got an email today from a company that I had an interview with last month, and I got rejected. They had filled the job that I had applied for. I am kind a feeling that I am over qualified for the positions that I have applied for. Even thou I have 19 years of manufacturing/production job knowledge ( including Quality Control ) working on the production line. But I am still hitting the job pavement.

Newest job update 1/19/2019:

I have an job interview tomorrow, at a new company that I have applied at.

Also, I got an email from an other H.R. person, from a different company, they saw my cover letter/resume. The company is in the process of doing interviews. Just waiting to hear from the company.

Thinking positive thoughts for you Deanna.
Hi,

I asked a former co-worker( retired) to give me a "Letter of Recommendation's" to the companies that I have applied for. They asked me for some key Contributions to highlight during the time I had worked at my former job. They'll mail the Letter of Recommendation's to the company's that I give them addresses for.

Today( 1/10/2019) my interview went very well, the person who interviewed me had read my resume and knew I was smart, and if he gave me a task/or job, he know it would get done. So I am just waiting to back from the employer about the $$.

All the interviews that I have had have gone very well, the next step is waiting for the $$ offer.

I'll post more info. when I can.

In the mean time I am still applying for jobs.

It is tough starting over in the work force again.

You might consider getting those letters for your own records. That way if needed, they can be part of the info you supply if requested by a possible employer.

I have printed the " letter's of recommendations" from the person the former co-worker( retired Marine Core), for my own records.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Sometimes we have to take one step back to take two steps forward. It's happened to me and many others when changing jobs.
At my previous
job I was making a high paying hourly rate, now I have to start all over again, at zero.

I have a lot of technical skills / and work experience ( 19 years) under my belt.

I am frustrated, and some of my coworkers are getting jobs, and I am not getting a job.

Deanna
