• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How's it going guys. I'm currently on a search for a 2013 RS-S SE5 preferably in the metallic orange or the neutron green. I'm hoping to find one for about $10K with low miles and maybe with a few accessories. I may have some additional funds by the end of September so if that's the case I'd love to scoop up a 2015 F3-S SE6 in magnesium grey or in white. I love the way the red painted frame stands out and looks. I'm hoping to find one of these Spyders for about $14,000 with low miles. I've seen them new at dealerships online for as low as $15,499. Anyway that's what's going on with me currently in the Can-Am Spyder world..... lol

I am an RS rider and if I were you I would hold out for the F3. I rode a Harley before the Spyder and I like the forward controls.

When I first got the Spyder I really liked the seating position because I came from the world of snowmobiling and it was very similar. I quickly realized it was quite different. Snowmobiling I am all over the seat, leaning forward, sideways, standing to absorb the harsh ride in the moguls. But riding the Spyder, if your not riding the Dragon daily it's a lot different. You just sit there, and things on a 62 year old body get stiff.

I personally think the F3 is the more comfortable ride. Just my 2 cents. Whatever you choose, enjoy, it's a lot of fun.

Thank you very much for the advice mxz600. What initially drew me to the Spyders were a similar riding style to an atv perhaps more on the ergonomics of the machines. That's the way I saw it but then again I've never even rode on a Spyder yet... lol. I do however have a lot of utility atv technical trail riding under my belt. I used to ride Harley's as well and love that I never have to worry about laying down a Spyder like I did my "Easter egg" Harley's.... lol

It seems like you would want to ride both types of bikes before making the decision on one over the other. Not sure what you get for $10K but I am sure you can find a :spyder2: to fit your budget if you are willing to travel.

Thanks al0vely, for about ten grand I can get a 2013 RS-S SE5 with a couple thousand miles in great shape an even with a few accessories added like a passenger backrest, Akropovic (*Sp?) exhaust muffler, etc.

I'll just add that you should certainly test ryde both models before deciding. They are quit different rydes. And of course . . . :welcome:
 
Hello fellow Spyder riders! Just an update. Well, I'm finally getting my Spyder and it's an F3-S SE6 and it's currently being shipped from Cali. It has about 1400 miles on it and has a few goodies installed on it. Got a pretty good deal on it too. I should be receiving it from the shipper tomorrow or Friday. I'm so excited! [emoji41]

Test Ride both

The F-3 is nice but I like my RS-S better. if forward controls are something you like, then the F-3 is great. Also, the valves on the 1330 are self adjusting. (I'm trying to prepare myself for the day I'll be forced to get an F-3, because they're not making the RS anymore.)

Congrats on the purchase. :D

Thank you very much Carolina. For a while I had my heart set on a 2013 alloy orange RS-S. It would have been much cheaper too but I decided to spend the extra $$$ and get a F3 because I heard it was much more comfortable, you sat lower in it, handling, and updated riding/safety technology. I'm still young at heart but getting up there in my mid forties so I'm getting more concerned about safety and stability in the bike I get but the younger part of me prefers the wicked styling and increased performance of the FS models.

The bottom line is that you get out there and enjoy your Spyder no matter what model you have. 😉 👍
